Moderate hike with a bit of a steep incline for the first .6 miles. After that the trail is mostly level. There are signposts wherever the trail splits so you don't need to have it mapped in advance. It's a busy trail so you'll rarely be hiking alone here. Amazing views at the overlook.

Quick and fun hike! Great views! Unfortunately it was raining all throughout so it made things a little eh, but love to return back in the summer and fall! It is easy for anyone who hikes sort of frequently but might be hard for those who are new.

What an amazing and mesmerizing place. Hike is very moderate you can park right by the road and hike up. Please be respectful and park where you don't make people go on the road to pass your car. When you get to the top you have this amazing view of the valley, Hudson River and the bear mountain across the river. This must be one of my favorite places for a quick hike. Highly recommend taking a bite with you and pausing on the top. You will not regret exploring this mountain. It is also a part of the famous Appalachian trail.

830 should be fine. Defintely no later than that. Depending on the weather. If it is nice weather , prepare to see it packed.
Not that I know of, try stopping at the Toll house! Id say just be smart and keep your distance if your worried! Enjoy the day good luck! 🇺🇸✌
It is open every day.
It is a safe climb but be prepared and hydrated. It can be pretty steep at times. Yes, you should pack a lunch and snacks and enjoy eating at the top of the "nose". I'm not sure if there are maps. I know the trail so I never looked for maps. There are 2 entrances, one about .5 mile south of the Bear Mtn bridge and one on just the north side of the bridge. I've only done the north side one. It seems more direct and the path is easy to follow.
Be careful, the military base near by conducts training around the mountains. Stay as close as you can to the Mountain. If you hear a chopper, descend. I've seen a close call once 😬
