Stop reading the reviews and just go already! My husband and I were having a spontaneous day trip and found ourselves wanting to know what the African Safari Wildlife Park was and decided to check it out. Tons of staff on site as well as educational seminars educating guests about the animals in their park. We did both the drive thru and walk through portion and loved being able to interact with the animals—literally had a bison head in our car and it was the greatest experience that you have to have in person to understand how incredible this experience is!

It was pretty cool but a little overwhelming. I’m not sure if it was maybe a slow day but the animals seemed very hungry when we came through and would swarm our car to get to the food each time we stopped, making it hard to get away or roll the windows up when we were done. The kids really enjoyed the walk through part

A self-drive through park with dozens of types of animals roaming freely. You're given a large cup of animal feed at the beginning of the drive, then they wait for you to drive up. They'll come right to your windows to beg. Alpacas, deer, longhorns, even bison come up to beg. In fenced areas are antelope, zebras, giraffe. Also a walking tour of smaller animals, gift shop, etc. More feed can be purchased too. If you get surrounded and can't drive, wranglers on golf carts will disperse the herds. Overall a lot of fun and I would recommend it highly for all ages. And if you leave your windows open, they will stick their heads in for food. Fine for Alpacas and deer, not so much with longhorns and bison!

The people there are great! Really friendly! They're passionate about the animals. Expect to get the car a bit dirty when you feed the animals....but luckily there's vacuums available for just a couple bucks right at the gate.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Brittney Smith yes you are I mean it's at your own risk they give you a cup full of food to feed them once you get into the gates
Yes you can. My suggestion is to stop by grocery store to buy extra to feed. Otherwise it will get really expensive fast.
It said on some of the signs there rain or shine. So I'm guessing if u don't mind getting a bit wet or the possibility of the inside of your car getting wet then yes u can still have fun in the rain
Not even a hour but you can drive threw as many times as you want
Its SO worth it!! No scratches we just headed straight to the carwash bc it had animal drool. You would think you would get scratches but you really don't we even had a huge Bison with part of his head in our car. I would highly recommend going especially if your taking kids
Yes. The African Safari is open all year but they have some days where they are not open. Check their website for hours and dates of operations.
I bought a Groupon, and a family pass for one year was $60. Per adult the price was $13 on Groupon. Purchasing an annual family pass, includes about 150 other zoos and aquariums across the states (most half off or free), was the most economical for me.
Yes you can buy tickets at the front gate. There are many points for ticket sale.
You are only permitted to bring a dog with you to the Park. Dogs must be on a leash in the Walk-Thru Safari, and in the Drive-Thru they cannot stick their head out the window and interact with any of the animals. Dogs must be under control of owner. Owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs. No other type of pet is allowed into our Park due to animal health and safety regulations. This includes cats, birds, rodents, reptiles, etc. African Safari Wildlife Park reserves the right to have any dog removed from the Park at any time.
I have no clue we went camping at East Harbor state campgrounds great place to Camp though
About 45-1hr, but they also have a outside zoo you can 🚶 through, that free
No. I found a free Lake Erie book as you walk into Walmart. It had a few coupons in it!
I don't know. I didn't see anything they needed help with when I visited but you can ask.
They have a new area like a big room full of parakeets and birds you can feed too. They were landing all over everyone.
No, you have to buy it through the safari. They do give a cup a carrots and a cup a feed with a pass. More you will have to pay extra.
Hello Jacob! Yes, we are open this Saturday 12/4/21. Our Park closes for the season on Sunday 12/5/21.
Currently Email is the option to contact them
Yes They are. We preferred to go weekday because there is very less crowd and more of the animals come to you. Might want to consider.
There is the pass to do the drive through outside and the walk tour has a pass to hand feed certain animals as well
When you buy lettuce I suggest putting one peice in the cup at a time because the animals are great at taking the whole cup full. Each cup full is 5$ make sure to save some for the giraffe at the end of you can purchase more with cash right before you reach them
Depends on your provider! T mobile had no service in the area.
Don't remember seeing them, and don't need for drive through part.
Yep get ready for car wash and scratches.
Hi Jennifer! As long as there is NO nose to nose contact with your dog and our animals that will be fine. In the Walk-Thru Safari, please keep your animal on a leash and please clean up after them.
Yes, the whole park is wheelchair accessible
Spring rate was $20.00 with coupon I found, rates increase in the summer.
No you cannot drive a topless jeep and doors must be on.
Check out their website https://www.africansafariwildlifepark.com/tickets/daily-tickets/ I just took my daughter's and we had a blast.
Or you can walk through
Yes you can, we just ask that there is no "nose to nose" with any of the safari animals. We suggest keeping pets in the rear of the vehicle where the windows are up. Thank you for contacting us! Have a Wild time!
Why do you need AAA? Go online purchase tickets for $27 a person over the age of 7. Go have fun.
I paid 135 for a family of 5. I believe its $27 for anyone over the age of 7. Don't buy the extra $19 a person to feed some birds, turtles and small animals, its not worth it.
Nope it's not there
I was able to get a season pass from Groupon for like $70. They also had daily passes. This was in the beginning of the summer
You can purchase them at the park. Discounted tickets can be bought in Sandusky.
It cost per person. Aprox $25 per adult. There is a senior discount
They are not provided. You pay for them extra. They are expensive too. 1# for $5 is outrageous. At the grocery they are 2# for under $2.
Always check for discounts. Places like Groupon often have deals
I was there last week. They charged us $20.95/person.
$15 for 4 buckets...carrots,lettuce, and 2 buckets of grain pellets
The paths are pretty wide to get a wheelchair or a scooter through.
Look for a deal on Groupon or the half-price sites. We paid $30 for animal food and got a lot.
It's great for the kid's, lot's of animals to feed from the car, also a play area and birds, turtles, alligator, ducks, camel rides, animal shows, snack bar and gift shop.
No hyenas... you do know hyenas eat meat and this place is a "feed from your car" kinda thing...
Run it thru a car wash.on a scale it is my slobber that washes off. Have fun you will love it
It seemed to be pretty active all the time except for the giraffe the they tend to only come when they want to everybody else will pretty much come to your window throughout most of the day
No! But look on Groupon for cheaper tickets 1st that's what my family did.
You have to buy food from the park.
Yes, and if you visit their website they have a discount offer for visiting today.
Yes be careful of the animals horns and stuff, the place isn't responsible for damages
This sucks for people who don't drive.
Yes they are open. Drive thru only not walk thru.
Giraffes bisons texas long horns zebras plus more, was surprised for Ohio all loved it worth time. Stayed in own vehicle
They're closed until February 22. Doesn't seem like it would be very enjoyable this time of year.
Yes there is a small one by the walk through area
Hi Kris, Yes, Children 2 and under are always FREE! Admission includes unlimited trips through the Drive-Thru Safari, Walk-Thru Safari, and our Educational Animal Programs found in the Walk-Thru. Be sure to come visit us this summer, Memorial Day - Labor Day to experience it all!
I believe Jake is on tour right now
My daughter works there, with the animals... Jake got to heavy to work with and went to a zoo
Yes, they had it twice. It was around 11:30 and 2
Children under 2 are free
It's 20-30 minutes at a normal pace but it's fun, my kids love it and we buy a season pass and go several times a year. We drive a few hours to a family cottage so it's a nice add-on. With that said, I dont think it's worth a 3 hr drive if that's the focus of the trip. If you're going up for other things such as Cedarpoint, Put-in-Bay, etc. and this is just an added attraction, I think it's worth it.
I was there 2 weeks ago did not see any lions. Deer, Bison,Lamas, zebras, giraffes when you drive around. They have boars, kangaroo, albino crocodile to name a few animals in the zoo part.
Honestly I'm not sure, however I'd imagine they were born in captivity based on how they interact with people.
You can go on Groupon and get an annual pass which is cheaper for 4 people. Single a kid was like 25 for 1 day pass i pd 70 something
Not really, no. They have picking tables inside the walk through zoo area. But you aren't allowed to bring in your own food. However, my family and I usually bring a picnic and sit under the trees next to the parking lot. It can be a little dangerous if you have kids who like to run though, but most people coming and going are good about going slowly.
Camp Sandusky. Its a nice little place we stayed there its like 10 min away
Yes they are open normal hours (9am-7pm)
Always check Groupon before going here. That's your best deal.
Yes... Mostly good to use till yr end
Free 2 and under
Yes, they're open. There are coupons on their website.
This i don't know, i would say no as these are wild animals and you are feeding them with your windows down.
We were there first week of March. A tad cool and not everything was open but some animals were available. Website has pretty detailed info.
Groupon pass is a limited one time pass. The annual pass and the 2 year pass if you live close is a great deal. It's per the car load with everyone in a seat.
No but that would be great. The animals and their food are rough on your car.
Please visit the website for operating schedule
