I haven’t even buried my mother yet. But this has been the worst experience from a company I’ve ever had. Each person I met always told me something different. The weekly nurse would never let you know they were coming. I was told everyday an aide was coming to bathe her and she never received one bath except for what I could do myself with a hernia. It took 2 hours for a nurse to show up to pronounce her passing at 5:00 am when it should have taken 30-35 mins at that time of morning. The communication was horrible from day one and I would never recommend this company, especially when you need to be able to depend on expectations and guidance. They always expected me to provide gloves, etc when I felt that should have provided through hospice. I should not have to supply your nurses my gloves and other supplies. This was a live and learn experience for sure. I’m so glad she is at peace now. The Chaplin called me the day before she passed and I had already let hospice know she had a preacher and she was at peace. Hospice said they had put that in the notes. He called me after she was nonresponsive and let me know I had no choice, he HAD to come out and was quite rude, but I can’t get anyone to help me bathe her or wash her hair? We were already in a rough situation and I would have never thought an organization called HOSPICE would have let us down like they did. End of story…

Everyone I have met or talked to in this organization is compassionate, capable. and caring. Their professionalism is outstanding, understanding the disease process, knowing what we needed before we knew ourselves, and knowing how to make our loved one comfortable. Our whole family loves every team member of Community Hospice. We have used their services twice and will certainly call them if they are needed. After all, they are now part of our extended family

Community Home Care & Hospice is an awesome company, nurses and staff are very compassionate, responsive and respectful. The absolute best Hospice agency in the Leland, Southport, Wilmington, Hampstead, Wallace and surrounding areas. I recommend them to the highest level.
