Kindred Hospice took great loving care of my mother in her final days. She was very appreciative.

I have worked with Brad and Nick!! They are both fantastic!! Always willing to fix a problem if anything comes up and making sure the residents care is put first!!

We had to change our hospice to kindred due to partnership with the nursing facility we chose, we would have chosen differently had we known how poorly the facility and Kindred hospice communicated. First, they didn’t get all the medicine to the facility in a timely manner, weather it was the facility or Kindreds fault, they didn’t make sure my fathers pain medicine was available. When I discovered the problem, (yes I had to ask the med-aid for pain medicine and that’s when she told me she didn’t have any for him) hours later due to my father complaining of pain that evening , they did scramble to get the medicine there. When it was decided to give him more pain medication prior to moving him due to extreme pain while getting him to his wheel chair, they failed to put it in the orders, so he wasn’t getting any! I caught the problem a few days later. It did get better once I Threatened to call the Ombudsman, and file a complaint with the state. I’m not sure lifecare in Elkhorn Nebraska was much better. My wife and I had to consider moving my father home or to another facility but had a long talk with the director of nursing, and with my father failing so quickly, we left him there, and made multiple visits each day to make sure they were doing what they should. My dad was only there 10 days, the cancer took him quickly. The staff was friendly, always with a smile, and kind heart, but failed in communication with each other. My first wife was in hospice in 2010, our experience was much much better But it wasn’t at Life Care, or with Kinderd.

Kindred can always be counted on to help my residents when they need to transition to Hospice. They have perfected a schedule that has nurses ready at any time of the day or night, which is important to me and family members. Kind, caring, knowledgeable
