Really liking how the city seems to disappear from the interior of this park. Lots to do and see and uncrowded on a week day. Except for the tour busses.

Had a good time walking through the park with my yen, my sister, Esme
Is that a trick question? Anytime you get there the fun starts. I did see a little covered pavilion, so you may wanna take the little smoky and toss a couple burgers on the grill and have a 🥳
Bayou Segnette State Park is a good place for camping. They also have cabins available. Even though it is suburban there is a bus line to downtown. Ask about ,"The Shrimp Lot" nearby in Westwego, LoUiSiAna. Grill some fish or shrimp.
Yes there are. They are scattered all around the park. I would suggest scoping one out before just showing u pand trying to find one available. I see alot of folks bringing their own too.
Parts of city park are lit with Christmas lights all year round. Look for Morning Call restaurant in City Park. Its open 24 hours a day and has been for a hundred years. Also the lights are surrounding this area of the park. I have many pics here at night.
Yes! I just saw it yesterday. Go to City Parks main web page and they have a list of upcoming events. In that list you will find about volunteering at different things in the park.
That is no problem. The only thing you need permission for would be to use a shelter for a party. I did my wedding at the fountain on City Park Ave. Near the hedges.
Yeah, though I believe you need to transfer once. I recommend using the RTA GoMobile App. It has schedules and recommended routes for your destination. Best!
On their website it says:
"City Park (the "Park") shall be open to the public daily from 30 minutes prior to official sunrise until 30 minutes after official sunse"
But also says:
Please visit celebrationintheoaks.com to purchase tickets for another night and time of the season. All tickets must be purchased in advance and online only. Streets in the Park are closed for this event. The event is not open for bikes or pedestrians.
There are not restaurants there. Only Cafe du Monde. Outside of the park, very close there are many good places and the esplanade ave., is plenty of them
City Park's official hours during the winter is 6a to 6p. With approval of the city you can be granted access. A quick google search revealed that info.
Ride on the train, feed the ducks go for a tandem bike ride, a canoe ride with their parent wearing a life preserver, then go and have some beignets with milk with their parents. Very soon the Children's Museum will be open! Now good and have some fun!
If and where are the lacrosse goals in the park? I remember there were some a year ago. Havent checked since and the map only shows rugby and soccer fields so far

The fields are on Scout Island near the corner of Marconi Drive & Harrison Ave.
Do they EVER monitor the lines for the rides? I have NEVER seen so much cutting line!

I do not know, probably not.
I'm bye the dog park. I walked over to the small lake by the farm area. There are literally thousand of small and large empty snail shells. A kill off of sorts or did they die from weather or get ate. Anyone know?

Think it happens every year with a change in the weather.

I would not recommend they do, it's watched by police at night and they will probably get bother about it. But the Lakeview shore it's good as long as you don't stay there long.
