I submitted an application with my boyfriend of 3 years for a dog. We sent them family pets records as requested. They called all of our references, basically harassing them until they picked up the phone. Our references had really nice things to say, and were very outgoing about how a pet would be ideal for us. They called me to ask why I didn’t put in a cat adoption form, and I said I was open to both but we wanted a dog a little more. She suggested to put in an app for a cat because we’re a younger couple, and with work, that may be more ideal. She even said we were the “perfect couple” to do so. So we did. And we got denied. No one would tell us why. I called twice, emailed two different email addresses, and not one person could give me a valid response. We don’t even have a parking ticket to our background, I cannot imagine why we were denied. Not to mention, my small buisiness donated a percentage of its profits to this non-profit, the entire MONTH OF JUNE! AND— my family has already adopted from here. No excuse. No valid answers. Just BS. Will not be recommending this to anyone.

Several years ago, I filled out an application to become a volunteer. I never received a response. However, they took my information and began sending me requests for donations. It made me feel like they didn't want me to volunteer, they just wanted my money.

I should have read the reviews before wasting my time filling out the forms in detail with energy. I commend you for the work you try to do but this rescue is a joke. I personally think they pick and choose based on prior pets; meaning, if you do not have a current vet to confirm you’ve had a cat or dog in the past, they reject you. So basically, you can be a loving family, ready for a pet bc ur children are older, and they will automatically reject you if you do not have a former pet. I also want to add, that Claudia needs an attitude check. You shouldn’t be calling references without giving them an opportunity to speak. According to my former co worker, you were short and rude. Also, you should be reading applications fully not skimming through them bc if you would have read in detail the way I wrote in detail, you would have seen my prior pitbull experience and called ALL of my references, not just one. :) also, it’s important I state that I wasn’t denied. I simply stopped moving forward when they expected me to chase down a vet that I had 15+ years ago in NY. I’m currently working with a different rescue and waiting for my new pup. This rescue actually takes the time to interview families by phone/video call and not judging solely by a piece of paper/form. By the way; YOU guys lost out on a very loving, mature, responsible family for one of your pups in need all bc you’re short and judgmental from a piece of paper.

We foster dogs at 11th hour rescue and they are an amazing rescue. They always make sure their animals receive the proper care and vetting no matter what the cost. We recently fostered a dog that needed surgery and 11th Hour paid for her surgery, weekly rehabilitation and her custom leg brace. Their dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and any creature that comes into their rescue are priority and always come first.

I just adopted 2 dogs shortly after we found out my daughter was allergic. Hives, blotchy face watery eyes. She is taking zrytec daily and when real bad benadryl. I cant ask my daughter to live this way. I love the dog's but i love my daughter more. We r working with a rescue to find them a new home. Thwy are sweet sisiters and it pains me to ket them go..sometimes there r legitimate reasons
It breaks all our hearts when pets need to be surrendered. There are circumstances, such as illness and not being able to care for the pet properly that are out of the families control. I do agree that people who surrender for minor issues probably shouldn't have been pet parents in the first place.
Go to a regular township shelter. Donation process will be much much easier. I recommend denville!! Great place.
Why would you move somewhere that doesn't take your pet? Move somewhere else
They are not library books
Adoptions fees cover all health care, grooming, food and boarding. If you can't afford the adoption fee then you can't afford to adopt. Pets are a lifetime commitment not a temporary gratification item you can then discard when you get bored or it gets to be too much work or cost too much.
It means they were rescued from Texas
Because that's the way they work. Not advisable get a rescue there unless you want to get completely aggravated.
We regularly get Dachshund mixed breeds. Go to EHRdogs.org and type Dachshund In the available animals search.
I think they only take cats and dogs. I believe St. Hubert's in Madison take guinea pigs
I suggest you don't get any animals from anywhere, period. I doubt they'll give you another chance.
Fill out an application, they might have them online. Good luck and thank you for volunteering to foster!
Give them a call.
Fill out application on line for fostering.
Reply to the email you received saying you were approved and tell them which dog you are interrested in.
Just head to the Eleventh Hour Rescue website to see all of the available dogs and cats looking for their furever home!
