Lazy employees, pretty much have to beg them to do any work. 3 months since the process started and nothings changed. No one calls to follow up, no one knows whats happening with a case, Who hires these folks? Seriously…

Needed to get my name changed so I filled out the form online first. I tried to make an appointment, but never had someone answer the phones even though I was on hold multiple times for over an hour. When I arrived, it wasn’t clear if I needed an appointment or not so I just got in line. Luckily I did not need an appointment. I arrived shortly before 9 and didn’t get inside until 10:50. Once I got my number, I waited another half hour until I was called to a window. The actual process at the window was simple and took maybe 2 minutes. I just wish the hold times would be less so that I could have made an appointment. Also that the website was more clear that an appointment was not needed. They still require social distancing and masks. If you don’t have a mask, they’ll give you one. Yet they don’t sanitize any of the chairs that hundred of people touch every day

Got in line around 8:30 am and got out at 11. The employees we talked to were nice. FYI, they require everyone to wear a mask so bring one.

The best thing to do is to go to the local office and present the death certificate, they will go over your options with with you.
It's better you visit the office, your new card will arrive faster.
Hi this mahmood haider ssc office is open for visit
1( 800) 772-1213
Going to the location is the best option in your situation. But I will advise you to go there as early as the time it opens, if you dont want to be in a looong line...
You must go to any social security administration office and report your departure.
for faster service you should drop it off instead
No you do not have to, you can go to any SSA office in the state. She just didn't want to help you. Were you nice to her when you approach her?
I'd go ahead and apply now. That way if there are any issues between now and then, you can address anything that might come up before your estimated benefit receipt date.
Call 1 800 772 1213 or go online to book for it
Plan to stay several hours and you better keep an eye on your application. I was there for hours. It's been months and I was supposed to have my SS card within 3 weeks.
Call 1 800 772 1213; and be prepared to spend at least 40mins on hold-mode. Best time to call is after 1pm from Thursday
I will suggest you go to the Social Security Office and talk it out with them(The Administration )
