I've traveled out of town to take my one box of clothes to CM. After shopping and waiting there over an hour, they still hadn't touched my box. Workers instead were on their phones standing around. Another customer was waiting with me and was surprised they weren't ready yet either with her items. I ended up going home, not able to go back to the store within the one day time limit, and they donated my clothes without taking any of them. They didn't even call me to let me know they were donating my box of clothes. Clothes there are overpriced anyways and I would not recommend the store anymore.

Way nicer, cleaner, and better organized than the Plato’s closet in the same parking lot.

I bought 12 items for under $70.00 on Sunday at Clothes Mentor in Newport News, VA. There were no special sales going on, but the items were reasonably priced. I found two “like new” Alfred Dunner tops for my mom, as well as an embroidered Quacker Factory top -new with tags, another new with tags screen print top, and a soft Karen Scott printed tee shirt. I got two pair of black slacks by Gloria Vanderbilt and West End for $7.50 each. I also got an embellished neckline T Shirt for $5.50, a new with tags Style & Co Tunic, an Apt. 9 printed tee and 2 makeup bags- one from Nordstroms. The store was fully stocked and was not taking new consignments until later in the week. There were plenty of salespeople on hand if needed, and overall the store looked nice. I found quite a few items put back in the wrong sized section but other than that, things were organized by type of item, size, and color. Sizes were 0 - plus size, and they had many designer purses at below retail prices that appeared to be newer styles. There were higher end designer pieces throughout the store but I was looking to refresh my closet with new to keep items without spending a lot of money. I would definitely recommend visiting the store this season!

Gabriela was really nice. She went out her way to make sure I was taken care of and also fairly priced items I’ve sold here. I was happy with my experience

If they take them dont expect but a dollar or 3. 00 I took brand new name brand clothes I had never wore they looked through them come back and offered me a whopping 6.00 for a brand new pair of Ryka shoes! I thought maybe she mixed me up with another lady who was waiting after dropping a few items to get a price on.. nope it was me.. she wanted them shoes bad but for 6.00 I will donate to someone in need... this place is a complete rip off take a look at their prices and tell me who's making all the money 😃 I haven't been back and dont ever plan on it!! I dont care what kind of sale there having. They also say name brand items only, I found about 20 faded glory shirts an jeans.. lol that was Walmart brand at one time. But not in the last year or 2. Haha but policy says must have been 4sale in mall within 2 years! RITE!!! I would definitely try another store over clothes mentor anyday!

what is the split for consignment

You never need an Appointment to sell to us. We do our buying on a first come, first serve basis, giving priority to sellers who stay in the store while we process there buys. We are looking for items that have been new in the stores the last 18 to 24 months. We will evaluate your items based on condition, style, and how well they have been selling in our store. Sometimes we have to pass on items that have nothing wrong with them, we are simply over inventoried and can’t take anymore in. The items we select to purchase will be entered into our computer system and that will generate our offer. We pay our sellers between 25-50% of what items sell for in our store. The more in demand an item is the closer to 50% we pay. If we have to pass on items we will send them home with you and tell you why we had to pass. If you except our offer we pay cash on the spot or you can choose store credit. If you choose store credit you get 10% more! Hope to see you soon!
