Used to be my favorite hamburger joint, would go every friday to get one. Have only been back three times since the new ownership and the hamburgers arent the same and they get sloppier and sloppier with the prep. Pulled the last one out of the bag and the ketchup and mustard was all over the outside of the bun making it a total mess, ended up throwing it away. Looks like smitty's is my go to for a hamburger now

This is not merely an old-fashioned burger type place, they have all the little charming flourishes like model cars and vintage photographs of the place back in the day. The fries are huge, the mustard is neon, and there's a little deli toothpick even!

Idk what changed since my last visit in January but today was a miss. The patty had no flavor, the pickles are huge and my fries could have cooked a little longer. I see that the owners are willing to fix the issues tho… so next time I’ll be sure to just bring the food back.

Yes we have milkshakes. We have vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. We are open 11-5 Monday- Wednesday and 11-7 Thursday-Saturday.
Ownership changed in March. Everything is the same as it has been for years. We have made additions to the menu like bacon, hot dogs and tea.

The Daily Press ran a newspaper article in the a few months back about them. You may be able to search the Daily Press online for the answer. I believe that this is the only one.

This seems to be different as i have been to other what a burgers and the one in Newport news doesnt seem to be a franchise.best burger i have ever ate though.same lovely ladies that have been there for years.
