Super friendly staff and a great selection of materials to browse through. My daughter loves coming here for events like reading to the dogs. Additionally, I was in need of a last minute meeting room and they graciously helped me by letting me book a room here. It's also in a great location for spending time downtown. Overall this is one of my favorite libraries I've frequented.

Beautiful older library. They have lots of services and a nice staff. I look forward to visiting here often!

Most of the newer books are not available. I think the library really needs to look into buying more books, especially books by Black and Latino authors

UPDATE-There are more activities in the library. We made V Day cards and picked up our craft to go home. still our favorite. We love this library. We haven't visited ALL of the affiliates but it's def our favorite. As of 4/1/21 they have reopened.

Not sure as of "who" can get a card, but anyone can use the computers. If you have a library card your card number located on the back will be your access code and if you don't have a library you have to show drivers license or id. You do not need to put in your drivers license or id number for access....the librarian will unlock it for you manually.
Only those in the NC Cardinal network. Four Oaks, Selma, Smithfield, etc. Soon Clayton.
Hi Susan, a refresh is currently in the works. We would expect any new students to be active within the next few days.
The Smithfield public library isn't currently accepting book donations at this time.
The library has a small book sale at the front of the circ desk. There are no plans for a large scale booksale at this time. When there is, it will be posted on the website.
Yes movies lots of movies and they check out for 1 week
Quarter til 5:00pm. On their later nights, a quarter to 8:00
I searched the online library catalog; it appears the answer is no. Check with a librarian for further information.
