Beautiful and clean beach, they have food/ice cream stand at the beach entrance and they have Italian ice cream carts too, the water is calm with no rough waves. Free entry after 5pm, they have public restrooms separate for men and women and porta potty too!

I usually go to the beach in New London, CT but I saw that this beach had won for one of the best beaches up north and I decided last minute to go here. It is now my favorite beach (up north)!! The water is beautiful and clean, as well as the whole beach area. I went on a friday morning and it wasn’t as packed. (you have to buy a parking pass for the day in advance)

Probably the best beach on the North Shore. This is an amazing stretch of beach in Gloucester. There are public porta-potties and even an ice cream shop. The sand goes very far and there is plenty of space for several families. Great sand for games and castle making. The surf is not too rough and there is even a side channel where the little ones can play and go look for snails and crabs among the rocks. The seagulls are pretty bad so keep a close eye on your food. Parking can be a little expensive if you’re not local but if you go during the week or close to 5pm parking is free. Parking is also free on the off season and there is free parking on Nautilus road with beach access but that gets picked quickly so come early if you want a spot.

Experience the sand beach from cozy sections of kiddy pools, or the open sea with playful waves. Or go beyond to the rocky areas with with hidden ponds of friendly animals excited to interact with kids.

Yes, It’s either $300 or $350 but I thin there’s a limited amount as of 2019 beach season
They say its public, but the close the parking lot to public and leave half of parking to residents only, shouldn't it be first come ?
Middle of beach by parking lot
We were there last Saturday early and got in. Non resident parking is $30. I heard that non residents can get turned away if the lots get too full.
rarely
Parking is free after 5 pm
Free
I went about two weeks ago and resident only parking unfortunately.
Yes, but it closes shortly after 5 PM. When open they also have a shower area. After it closes there will still be outhouses on either side of the bathhouse. On the left side of the bathhouse coming from the parking lot, there is a dumpster.
No...it's only free after 5pm
Arrive early lot fills up quickly.
I come from long island NY and have a very different reference point as to what crowded is. LOL. To me, it's never crowded
No grilling but they do have concessions and restrooms
I don't think so!! I go there a real lot and my son is military, and we never asked. I really doubt it. Call the Mayor's office and she can tell you.
No dogs between May 1st and September 30th officially. Usually after Labor Day if no ones here you can try
Gates open at 8am officially and close a 9pm officially. You can’t get in before or after. After 5 it’s free
It is a beautiful public beach. Parki g is less difficjlg if you visit in the evening during peak season.
The parking reduces $10 from the original daily price at 3pm. And reduces to free at 5pm. Sometimes if it’s not busy it’s free a little before. Depends on when the lot attendants leave. But it’s 5 officially.
You can fish from the rocks next to the beach but from the actual beach no. Its no more than a half mile from the beach.
Gate to parking lot opens at 8. Plenty of other places to park for sunrise and have access to beach. Parking on st is best bet. The parking ticket is cheaper then parkinglot.(IVE GOT 1 IN 10YRS)
No. Go to Plum Island for fishing if you're looking to surf cast. Or the boat launch on the road to Wingaersheek.
That's a really good question. I saw a mention someone saw a crew there the other day but haven't been down to see.
Thank you everyone! Sometimes they cash in on the good weather and charge before Memorial Day!
