It is a beautiful public beach. Parki g is less difficjlg if you visit in the evening during peak season.
They close the lot when it's full. Residents can pay for a beach sticker for the season and there is a small section of the lot reserved for them that remains open for residents after the rest of the lot is full. I believe there is a small number of seasonal stickers available for non-residents to buy at the start of the season but they run out quickly and may only be for neighboring towns.
It closes to residents only because a certain number of spots are reserved for residents. Once a certain amount of non residents come in it closes so residents have spots reserved for them. Not just in their separate lot but throughout it. Once enough people leave and there is more than the amount of spots needed for residents the lot reopens to the public. You can get a nonresident sticker and usually get let in but it cost $300 or $350 I’m not sure
Isn't there another private lot down by Long Beach? Try the few spots on Beach Rd. 2 blocks from footbridge. Don't park illegal, they do ticket.
I 've been there recently when the parking attendant is not working. There is no fence around the parking lot, you can just drive right on in when no one is at the gate.
