San Joaquín Valley National Cemetery

A later post said there is no Veterans Day ceremony.....sad to belief that.

IS THERE GOING TO BE A MEMORIAL SERVICE THIS WEEKEND THE 26TH AND WHAT TIME?

The cemetery has a speaker that does that

I have left flowers, the pinwheel thing, and a little doll. The only thing is that every week or so days they would take eveything down and throw them away.

The office was closed when we went there recently on a Monday. I don't know what is going on with that. Sorry that you cannot reach them.😒

As far as an actual picture or schematic of the area, unfortunately no. The best the VA can depict is just the area or section where a plot is located.

Yes was ceremony on veterans day

When my grandfather passed last year, the funeral home handled the entire process and coordinated with the cemetery. This included: cremation, transportation of remains and scheduling of memorial services. All my family and I had to do was show up a bit early the day of the service to sign some paperwork. They put Wreaths on the graves of the servicemen. You donate and you can participate by putting one on your spouses grave on the special day.

They are buried. Rows in the sod.

Death certificates are usually kept at the office of the county clerk/recorder where the death occurred.

Out of respect for the soldiers and their families, I would not recommend bringing a dog.

Their brochure says they pick up every Wednesday.

Yes, the gate is only open from 8am to 5pm. My husband works there. Hope that helps 😀

The only family that would be allowed would be his wife and im sure a marriage certificate would also be needed as proof of marriage

Well im so very sorry to hear that . How ugly it is people break in to other people's homes to gain what items that dont belong to them . Karma well come to them and it won't be nice . So sorry . Memories and there always with us. Again my condolences, to your family

Yes.. they even have flower vases that stick in the ground if you bring a bouquet. It's beautiful there.
