**the Corning DMV has moved to 77 victory highway in painted post***The DMV teller was pleasant, unlike many of the DMVs I've gone to in NYS. Very quick to register my vehicle. I would recommend having the required documents filled out and ready to make the trip faster and easier.

Do you ever return phone calls?
You do not need an appointment for title, registration and new plates, you need to have the following documents: DTF-802, Bill of Sale, Proof of Insurance, Title, Copy of Driver's License, Signed blank check made out to Steuben County Clerk or Credit card authorization, MV-82, MV82B (if it is a boat your registering). For plates you also should provide a prepaid, self addressed large envelope for return of the plates and receipt. If you have all of the forms you can drop everything either in their drop box or give it to the guard on duty.
You go to your local DMV and ask them to take it after you take the test you pay them for it
Write down the vin number found in the lower front left hand side of the windshield. Take it into the office and tell them your issue. The line may be long..ask which line to stand in

When I was there couple weeks ago someone in line asked about scheduling a road test and they told her she had to sign up for it online. If you have to start over from the very beginning then you have to go to your local DMV building.

You have to do this online at dmv.ny.gov. You probably can renew online but if you have to go in you have to make an appointment and they are booking a few weeks to a month out.But if you check daily you might get lucky as they get cancellations.
Being proper I'd to have them send you a new one and pay the fee
I made an appointment for my DL first week of Sept for my renewal on the 20th of October. I got in the 13th They do take walk ins if they have time to fit you in between appointments, could wait an hour or all day.

The website and the phone numbers are not answered. The Best way is to go to the Corning office and speak with the Sheriff's Deputy and they will get you the forms and explain everything. Good luck, it's a process and will take time.

I had to call the head quarters and they got me through.
They do have applications for CDL not sure about driver escort permits
They take both cash and credit /debit cards. They also take checks.
