We always enjoy Riverside park. We fish and swim almost twice a week. The only down side is that the restrooms aren't always open.. maybe that's just the time of day or day of the week we go.
Lo Odo
One of our favorite parks. It is beautiful and right by the water with 3 different playgrounds. There is a nice river walk and a bridge that leads to shops in downtown Spruce Pine. There are bathrooms and picnic tables.

They lock them around when it starts getting dark and unlock them in the morning sometime. Definitely inconvenient.

There are two parking lots one is at the playground and the other is at the large pavilion beside the baseball feild. I believe the paved track that follows the river and goes around the ball feild will be about one mile after you walk it 4 or 5 times.
