We had a great time checking out the mining history. We also enjoyed searching through bucket of rip rap for minerals and gems. We had always laughed at this, but it was fun(we got some good sized stones and alot of gem chips.

Nice touristy and family friendly rock/gem mine and mill exhibits. Some parts are free (gift shop, outdoor area). On Dynamite Day's (Saturday & Sunday 1x monthly from May-Sept) they have added food truck(s) and Arts & Craft vendors. Mine tour (Bon Ami waterfall), Mill tour, Gem Mining & Gem Digging cost extra. Many picnic tables outside so bring a picnic lunch. Fudge and vending machines available.

This place is amazing. Beautiful scenery and amazing history. This used to be a field trip spot when I was a small child. It is even better to experience as an adult. The whole family had a great time.

My daughters name is Emerald, so obviously we HAD to go there. This place was even more awesome than I imagined! Well worth the money and GREAT prices on gemstones. Can’t wait to take my girl back someday.Thank you for coming and having fun at Emerald Village. We appreciate your comments and hope you can come back soon!

I've seen many people with the 2 gallon bucket and they get many things. Ive gone to emerald village 2 times and each time I got my 3 pound bucket and I end up filling 2 bags !!!! ITS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. I recommend this to anyone I speak to !!! I also did the panning for gold and it was so much fun! Everyone here is amazing!
Probably when Gov Cooper decides to lift restrictions on "indoor entertainment". Yes, it's a mine, but that's technically indoors. I'm sure they're just trying to keep from getting shut down.
Yes.. But you miss out on half of tbe experance. But you can take your bag with you I did...
A combination ticket for both self-guided tours is $9.00 for ages 5-12 and $12.00 for ages 13 and up. Gem buckets come in a range of prices and begin at $10. Buying the advance combo tickets online with a gem bucket included will save you several dollars. Another option is to dig your own on the old mine dumps. At Emerald Village it's your choice!
Salted means gems are added from other mines. Here at Emerald Village, buckets start at $10 for 1-gallon. At the mine, we also sell "unsalted" or "native" buckets, dug from our mine dumps with nothing added, beginning at $15 for 2-gallons. Bucket sizes at the mine go up to 30 gallons! We also have 4 sizes of buckets (2 to 4 gallons) we can ship, from $25 up to $100 plus shipping, at www.emeraldvillage.com/shop. Thanks for asking.
Most people are happiest buying a bucket and going through it in comfort. We also have two old mine dump digging areas. Dig all you want; keep what you find. I personally found that it can be a lot of hard work! But at Emerald Village you have a real choice!
The self-guided mine tour is $8 for adults and $6 for students. There is no admission charge to the Gemstone Mine and you buy the bucket of your choice. Buckets start at $10 for a one-gallon mix. Hope you can visit!
