Is there camping near close

I am sure there's camping close but it is well worth the trip

Carolina Hemlocks off 80, like Mike said. Nice campground.

In addition to Mike's recommendations there is also Springmaid Campground near Spruce Pine, and Blue Ridge Campground (no hookups but bath and restroom facilities). Blue Ridge Campground is adjacent to Emerald Village, so the closest!

Crabtree Falls campground south on the Parkway within 8 miles or Carolina Hemlocks off of NC 80. Both are very nice but basic. Commercial campground at Bear Den north of Little Switzerland.
