Massive campground on the Davidson river. The loops in the campground vary. We stayed at site 14 in White Oak. Most of the single sites in this loop offer a lot of privacy. Site 12 and 13 looked the best on this loop. Each site has a picnic bench, fire pit with grill, and a lantern pole. This loop had two bathroom blocks which were a little dated but had two stalls, a sink and a shower that provided hot water. Firewood was a little pricey at $9 for a bundle of 6 logs. Campground is located within reasonable distance to must see things in this area including Brevard, Rainbow Falls, and Sliding Rock.

Overall a very beautiful campground. The trail that runs along thr river is convenient to getting to the swim area. Although I will say the fisherman need to stay away from thr swim area as that's dangerous to the swimmers. A bear box for the sites is recommended. Other than that - yes I'd go again!

This is a great place to camp. If you ride bikes it's close to all of the fun Pisgah stuff. A couple of nights here will put you right where you want to be. The only downside is every time I go the bathroom seem to be closed one of the days.

Great campground. We’ve been twice so far, stayed about 5 days each visit. Very clean bathrooms, campsites are close together but trees block the view of them pretty well. We always booked sites that were pretty far from the river, just for more privacy. The area is very easy to navigate. Map is provided upon entry.

They are very strict, first time caught off leash, you have to leave
No security after 8 o'clock. Gate is left open all night, so anyone can come in. No host on all sites. Squatters are becoming a problem.
Unsure, but each pad can be different lengths. Call the front desk they should be able to set you up with a good fit.
A tent sight may be cheaper but they may not have electricity. Water spigots are spread around. RV sites all have electric.
Since the elevation is fairly high it will be cold in the evening and probably sunny during the day. The campground is fairly shady. Pretty leaves then. Hope you already have a reservation.
About 10 to 15 mins but the water super cold all year round so be prepared and it's 4 dollar per person in the car to get in
Not really. There is sliding rock but no water park within 50 miles
yes during certain hours of the day
It does have a hot spot near the gate at overflow parking
No; not at this time (due to virus). But, you can get firewood by the bundle at Bi-Lo, just a couple of miles from the campground.
Nope
Yes
Picnic areas are before you get to the campground and a nice swimming area
No. Davidson River is not deep enough for canoeing.
I also saw some pretty big 5th wheels and rvs down there, I think you should be good to go.
No. It does not
Some have electrical, but if you want one of those you have to reserve them to get one.
It's along the road near there but not in campground that I saw.
If your site is open you can go early.
Call is the best thing to in the summer or camp Monday thur Thursday
Davidson River campground the camp sites are not secluded but they are farther apart that you do have your privacy if you want privacy just before Davidson you can backpack across the bridge and go to A Primitive style Campground for tent camping you can also had North go up to I think it's 475 anyway the sign to The Fish Hatchery turn left go down past the fish hatchery and you'll hit a gravel road you'll start seeing campsites all over the place these campsites are free for 14 days today you can also head out on Davis and North go up just before the Blue Ridge Parkway there's a road to the right that goes to the river go about 5 to 7 Miles down and all kinds of places even on the river there you can also had North Ella Davidson Campground and go to the road that says horse stables take a right there there's a river coming down beside the road and you can park in a button you can camp in a bunch of places on the right hand side of that road and it's private
You should call the campground office to get an official answer
Nope
Yes you can hang hammock but you might want to bring bark saver straps for your hammock just in case thats a great campground have fun
I figure if you have a fishing license you can fish for ant fish
Thank you all.
My husband and I have camped here more times than I can count over the last ten years, during all seasons. The gate is only manned, I think, from April to October. In my experience, the staff changes as the campground hosts are the staff. That being said, I've dealt with some of the same hosts over the years during different times of the year. Yes, maybe some people are more friendly and possibly more helpful than others, but I've never been treated so poorly than I wouldn't go back. It's a HUGE and desirable campground. Can you maybe imagine the large volume of campers (and their personalities) that they have to deal with day to day? People who probably blame them for the things like the weather, or the fact that the campground is full... I love the campground and would highly recommend it based on my personal experiences.
The park hosts have sewer and they do have showers with flush toilets.
Yes, right down the park road
I think you can and yes they have have a place to fill your water tank and a dump station. Love Davidson River campground.
No, if you go on Monday - Thursday, you xan usually get a non electric. I booked in April for this October, actually my mom an I go next week
Yes. There are many bike trails nearby.
