My husband and I have camped here more times than I can count over the last ten years, during all seasons. The gate is only manned, I think, from April to October. In my experience, the staff changes as the campground hosts are the staff. That being said, I've dealt with some of the same hosts over the years during different times of the year. Yes, maybe some people are more friendly and possibly more helpful than others, but I've never been treated so poorly than I wouldn't go back. It's a HUGE and desirable campground. Can you maybe imagine the large volume of campers (and their personalities) that they have to deal with day to day? People who probably blame them for the things like the weather, or the fact that the campground is full... I love the campground and would highly recommend it based on my personal experiences.
I have been using DRC for 25 years in all 4 seasons have never had any problems with anyone, the staff or anything.
Simply put the campground is awesome and I've never had trouble with any of the staff as another reviewer said some may be friendlier than others but they've always done what I've needed or asked and have had a fairly Pleasant attitude while doing so.
Every 3 months or so the host on each circle swaps out for a fresh pair. I've never had any of the staff to be rude. I've been going here for 15 years an I love it
A new management group is transitioning in now. The staff I spoke with on 3/11 was very pleasant.
I was here in January, and the campground host was very nice. Hes the only one we really encountered though. Hope that helps!
