Looking to drive up on Friday and pitch a tent- I don't see reservations for tent sites anywhere, but seen first come first serve. Is it first come first serve?

If not there til Friday, good luck. You better have a backup plan. DRC fills up fast on summer weekends, but there are many other camping sites in Pisgah National Forest, you're just not in a "campground". I know of over a dozen less than 1 mile from DRC.

Reservations fill fast. Look in the website. If they are full, first available is your next option. Good luck, have an alternative.

If you get there by 2, you can probably get a site. Leaving Thursday would be better You can reserve, up to 6 months ahead of time.

Most are reservable there except for the Riverbend loop. Probably a good idea to call them.
