There is a very wide range of activities offered at this park, and most of it is presented well. I can't explain all of it in detail, so I suggest checking out the map to see what the park has to offer. I can say that the paved trail is rather uninteresting but certainly great from an exercise standpoint and the ponds are a very pleasant addition. The boardwalk located near the amphitheater doesn't lead anywhere or have anything of interest, I don't recommend it.

Took my daughter to play with some friends and she had a great time on the play equipment and the trails. The bicycle area is nice too, especially for those who know how to ride. My little one wasn't quite there yet. We'd definitely go back!

Mainly easy, level trails w some climb near the fenceline. The shaded trails wind through stands of pine and deciduous trees. Once you get off the paved or gravel paths you will enjoy the soft pine needle underfooting. I prefer the forest trails over the paved ones. They can be rooty so be careful. Do your best to seek the outside path to catch the loop trail that circumnavigates the entire park. You will scoot the fencelines and nearby apts. & homes, and the creek. It's all quite pleasant, while a good workout. By the time I'd finished I had hiked over 4 miles and almost 1.5 hrs by walking the interconnecting trails as well. If you want to hike just the outer loop it's around 2.5 mi

Nice little park in the heart of Henrico, it has some nice walking trails and picnic areas. A few little ponds for fishing as well.

Depends on what you mean by kids. Maybe middle school age kids or teens could get a good game going on. But younger kids could maybe run around on it. It is only one court. Could use an upgrade but it's a b.ball court none the less. It's right by the first parking lot you would see after coming in the entrance. There are many picnic shelters around it and a bathroom very close.
Large groups are encouraged to make a reservation at Deep Run or Dorey Park, where several shelters are grouped together. Picnic Shelters are available daily from 9am-2pm, 3pm-dusk, or 9am-dusk.
