My favorite enjoyment for the day , I am grateful for the castle being open to the public and original furnishings and pictures, the home had been through so much and is still here so everyone may enjoy, my 8 year old was excited and looking for ghosts 😀

We thoroughly enjoyed our self-guided Tour of the Castle. In addition to the Castles history, we also appreciated the Roms dedicated to Fireman, the World Wars and Nuremberg War Trials. Most impressive.

Came here for Mother's Day high tea. Service was good. Decoration was great. Felt like I was in England again. Chinaware was very nice. $50 / person was a bit pricey for cold sweet desserts and food that wasn't prepared hot except for the scones. Even the sandwiches were a bit too tiny. The fruit cup had like 7 different types of food including mango slice, which was great, but looked like they were cut up 2 days ago and put in the fridge. Didn't give us stomach upset though. The last course dessert pieces could have been easily pulled out from a grocery's bag of candies and bit too sweet for our taste. Overall everything was tiny and cute, which fit more for "kids" than "adults". Love the napkin folding art even with a clip. They had a variety of teas to choose from which was great. We like the coconut banana over the other fruity ones as they were a bit sour which is slightly strange combination in a tea. Didn't have sugar cubes as I usually found in England during any meal. Atmosphere was great for sure. We were not big eater so it filled us up just fine. But if you're big eater, might want to have plan B after this.

A very quirky castle full of history. Some of the transitions from room to room are so jarring in a good way. You have to find the shoe from one of the castle walls (if you know, you know)!

Summer hours are 7 days a week closed Mondays during the winter
Not that I saw when I was there in September. Nice place to visit though!!
During summer they open at 9am
If you have your own bring it if not they have them for you to use.
It is a small charge to get in..if you want the tea room you have to call for reservations. Definitely worth it!!!
Not sure, was working a few weeks ago I believe, but as the other guides mentioned, give them a call first to find out
The path that goes through Miramont Castle does not allow you to see every room. There is a lot more to that castle than what the public is allowed to visit. There are servants quarters that are off-limits and another staircase that is also off limits. I am sure there is even more that I am not aware of. I read the book that I purchased from the gift shop. It was very interesting and explained the changes of the castle across its history. I definitely recommend reading in the book.
From their website: Active Duty Military with ID - Free Active Fire Fighters with ID - Free Children under 6 - Free Children 6 - 12 - $5.00 Adults 13 - 59 - $9.00 Seniors 60 + - $8.00 It's a bargain!
No room for a vehicle of that size, but you can park elsewhere and hop on the free shuttle to get around Manitou and get close to the Castle that way
We visited the castle a week ago, it was pretty warm out but very pleasant inside.
