John Batts is the VSO I worked with at the local Meck. County Veterans Office in NC. He is caring, honest and professional. He knows his stuff and is up front with his clients. I would recommend him to all my fellow veterans. He works for you and is an asset to the Veteran Community.

I will start off by saying I truly appreciate the veterans service as a whole. Mr John Batts is an amazing VSO, his professionalism and willingness to help veterans in need is outstanding all on levels. He was extremely helpful in the last few years when it comes to helping me with my claims. I will always recommend his service to other veterans like myself in the community.

The facility is top notch, getting through security was quick and I visited the Veterans center and from receptionist to service worker it was a very enjoyable and productive visit.

Hi Doris! I do not think the VA has free transportation but you could give them a call to find out. There are some cases where we can provide transportation to our office after completing an in-office assessment. Just ask the front desk to speak with the Veteran Services Case Coordinator. Thank you for your question!
I'm sorry to say that due to the sensitive nature of working with Veterans and their families we do not take volunteers, however, we do take on interns from local universities who want to kickstart their career in the field. Also, there are events and other opportunities for the general public that can be found on our Facebook page: Mecklenburg County Community Support Services.
