Terrible experience here a few years ago. He made excuses after the outcome of my surgery was not as expected . Went in for a corrective surgery but my outcome was worse! He became very rude and disrespectful after my first procedure but assured me he would be able to correct it, unfortunately I should have gone else where.

After thoroughly reviewing James A. Matas M.D.’s website specifically promoting such services relating to anti aging & plastic surgery procedures, I contacted his office for an appointment. I explained my specific interests to the office and affirmed an appointment day & time. On 2/17/22 I took time off of work and drove an hour & 30 minutes to have my scheduled consultation w Dr. Matas. Upon my arrival the front desk administrator was very kind and professional. Immediately when my consultation began with Dr. Matas my total experience shifted. He exhibited a very negative disposition. When I shared with him my wishes for a procedure to help augment a profound genetic defect that has greatly hindered my self esteem for years he responded abruptly “I don’t think you need it”. As I explained his current website publishing re this procedure seemed right on que, he responded “I am not sure what you read.” He then advised me to go to another doctor “and have him do it.” When I then tried to defuse his elevated rude belligerent behavior and inquire about another similar procedure,, he said “I have never even heard of that. “. Ladies .. this procedure is like Botox … plastic surgery 101. Dr. James Manta’s experience & published “proclaimed” skill is superannuated and he is exhausted in regards to today’s safe methods and millennial trends. He has zero clue what his website is promoting and falls within unlawful false unsubstantiated advertising. Beware.

There is no substitute for experience. Dr. Matas is a skilled surgeon who is honest and up front about the expectations of his patients. He did a wonderful job on a more complicated surgery due to my scoliosis.
