Found a beautiful puppy. I love it and great people.

I just moved here from another state and I have thus far had the worst experience with anything related to animal rescue and animal shelters. I guess when these poor animals are dumped, they need to make sure it is in the right county. For goodness sake! A life should matter to these that are in the "business" no matter what. Lafayette County has no animal shelter and when I called Lake City they could not only not help at all because the dumped dogs are in Lafayette County, but they had no recommendation of whom to call or how to help these poor animals. It was just a nope, no one to call, sorry.......I am completely disgusted. I would have even offered to pay for the care to get the animals to adoption.

They are very family originated and make you feel like a family member

They more than likely will but you need to call them as they don't answer on here. Call them or go to there main website
Honestly the best place to get that done is at "North Florida rescue " its the best place to go. They like the best
This site really only gives answers to questions of others experience or opinions of there personal dealings with the business. You really are going to want to call them or go to the main website .
Call the 911 non emergency number they will send someone out with 3 hours are sooner.
Just to express my personal experience with this establishment . I would say you might have a 1 in 199 chance of that happening. They will tell you they help but more than likely not. It's sad because they say it's there funding. They may take the kittens depending on if they have an upcoming event. They some times have events they attend where kittens and small dog's or puppies are more desirable. Truth. Best call them or visit there main website as this is going to be based on other's opinions or experiences.. have a blessed day
You will 100 percent need to call them or go there as this site answers questions based on the information, opinions and experiences of user's here.. hope it all works out for you
I've been conflicting information I can understand some can't be saved HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT CONTACTING BESTFRIENDS, THEY ARE IN GAINESVILLE JACKSONVILLE ETC WE ALL WANT TO SAVE LIVES & FOREVER HOMES FOR THE BABIES.
Yes kittens and cats are held for adoption sometimes they do pet smart adoption day on friday and saturday.I have a adopted a kitten and a siemese cat from the main center by pathways.
And it is against the law to dump or leave animals tied to a post or gate to the facility.
The short answer is no. We have had dogs and cats here for months. We try very hard to use rescues and fosters for them. You should volunteer and I feel you would appreciate the hard work my staff does to get all out alive!
You will need to call ahead
Lake City Humane society is made for good medicine at a low cost public care. We are also open as a full service clinic, just don't have a xray machine yet.
The owner
Yes if they are Not being taken care of and all cats have good vet care
Please keep your feline friends indoors. The life expectancy of an outdoor cat is less than half that of cats who remain indoors.
Don't know what your question is but if you are looking to adopt a cocker spaniel search for rescue groups in the area or the state. Other people answer questions here and typically the shelter does not monitor what's posted, give them a call if you are looking for a lost cocker spaniel if that's what you meant . . .
Questions posted here are generally answered by other people and not by the businesses, who do not regularly monitor or answer. You need to call the shelter directly.
Questions posted here are answered by other people who try to help. I don't know the shelters specific policy on stray cats, so you will have to call them to find out.
Questions posted here are for other people to offer help. You need to call the shelter to ask specific questions that only they can answer.
The shelter will put you on a 2 week waiting list and offer a list of other rescues to call. There is a $40 surrender fee. Most dogs are evaluated and either sent to a rescue or fixed and put up for adoption. If not possible then maybe.
They are very overrun by kittens and puppies right now and are asking for help finding homes or fosters for the ones they have. I'm sure they will take them but not sure if they will end up euthanized if they can't find homes for them quickly. It's probably best that you try to rehome them yourself first.
Go to shelter to see what they might have now - this is not way to contact shelter directly but where others help by answering basic questions. So you know, usually little breeds or pups of any kind are adopted out quickly so finding what you want might not be easy but let shelter know and maybe they can call you if they get a Pug. You might try contacting a Pug rescue group in FL or even GA to see what's available for adoption. Those dogs are usually not pups and kept in various foster homes so it might take work for you to be able to see their dogs but the groups put good details and pics on their websites. Use Google to search for Pug rescue groups for state or as far as you might want to travel, then search listings. Also look up small breed rescue groups to see if they have any Pugs. Call them too because websites are not always updated right away when new dogs come in. Good luck and thank you for wanting to save a little life through adoption!
For specific questions like yours you need to contact the shelter by phone or go there. This site is for reviews and basic questions, not for lost or found animals. Those of us here have no way of knowing about shelter dogs or cats.
The shelter does not monitor this page and answer questions. You will either have to go there or maybe they can tell you what they have if you call them.
Not sure but there is very low cost spay and nueter available
No charge if you are a Columbia County residents
No you need a vet...they only take in animals and do not have a vet on site yet. Try Suwanee paws they are cheap in lake city
They are trying to raise money to open a spay-neuter clinic. They are having a giant yard sale at their facility on March the 3rd starting at 8 am.
There is no registration in Columbia County.
FIV cannot be passed to humans in any way or under any circumstance. Like HIV in humans FIV is an immune deficiency disease effecting only felines. It is not easily contracted, but transmitted via bloody bites. Generally intact males (Tom cats) are most likely to be FIV+ because of fights over kitty tail and/or territory, but females can test positive too. There is not any treatment available,, but FIV+ cats can live a long life, and with others too because it is not contagious. However there are still unknown factors and spay or neuter is easiest way to prevent it, along with keeping cats inside, safe from outside dangers.
Call animal control. They are picking up messages today. Be specific as to location and condition of the dog.
Yes, but they do offer special reduced fees regularly and sometimes fees are paid or sponsored to help get them in a home. Call the shelter to see what they have - it changes all the time and see if they have any special adoption events coming up. Thanks for your interest in a shelter animal! They seem to know they've been saved when you get home and it feels great.
All animals must have some form of shelter to get away from the weather and a way to get shade from the sun.
Shelter might be able to recommend a vet but no one offers free vet services. You can apply for Care Credit or a vet might take payments.
This is where reviews are posted for stores and other businesses, and not for direct messages. If you are interested in adopting an animal then you need to visit the shelter..
This is not a message board where the shelter will likely see your post. Please call the shelter or go there with the dog to get it back to owners asap. There are also multiple lost and found groups on facebook you can research and/or post animals but still best to call shelter. (By the way, it is never wise to post your phone number online where scammy spammers will see it and sell it.)
You'll have better luck reaching soneone if you call. They respond to Facebook posts or messages but nothing as good as calling!
