Horrible experience. My son used their online service back in 2020. He recently received a notice informing him that he had been audited and a bill was produced. I contacted H&R block and was told they weren't responsible. I explained that they had completed the forms and e-filed on behalf of my son, but again was told they could not and would not deal with this situation. Truly worst experience ever with a tax preparer. UPDATE: They reached out to me after I posted this review, asking for an opportunity to make amends. At that point we had already settled and paid the tax bill. Therefore, nothing further was done.

Yes because if not they have no guarantee you will pay them. You can only have the fees withheld if you are getting a refund.
