The RV side has quite a bit of poison oak, so watch out (-1 star). But the camping side is pretty clear. Had a great night looking at the stars. Be prepared, though, if you get cold easy or need it dark. Also, you can hear reveal and revalee very well from here, so be ready for a 07 wake up!

Free showers for campers. Soap with the bathroom sinks! Large bike/hike site with easy registration. Have exact change when registering as you just fill out a form. And drop in the envelope.

Great camping ground under beautiful trees. If you don't need electricity on the spot, then this campsite is for you!

Love this place! So glad there are at least some campgrounds that allow walk up reservations anymore. Had a fabulous time with my three daughters and greatly appreciated the how clean the sites and facilities were. Will definitely be back again!

The only power i could find was out of the bathroom. I brought an extension cord for our air matress.
Yes. The showers, lockers, and bathrooms are located not to far from the hiker/biker campsite.
Good question to bring up to the parks department. Thats who operates the facilities.
Lots of trees
Yes, it is.
You can book 3nights in row
Two small-ish vehicles can fit in a spot. This is a primitive campground. There is a kiosk as you get near the cabin that the park man stays in and he would know best.
+1 831-646-3865 Call and speak with John. He's usually the camp host.
Yes there is. North side abutting the grass lawn near the entrance and bathrooms.
Yes
Campsites that are occupied have a white paper attached to a wooden Post in front of each site. whichever site does not have a white paper you can choose from and you remember the number go back to the front there is a wooden check-in station and grab a paper write down the information it asks for including the site number that you chose and the payment goes into an envelope and you drop it into a drop box. John the manager is there in the mornings early and he'll be walking around in a ranger uniform he's very friendly and you'll know it's him because everybody's talking to to him.
Monterey Veteran's Park is bicycle friendly, including campsites for bike riders specifically. However, the bikes that I've seen pass through there are long distance riders, not off-road. Questions in this section are answered by Local Google Guides. For the best information, please call the campground directly. The park manager, Chris, is a great guy!
First come first serve. $5.00 discount for seniors.
I think directly to the ranger.
This is a pretty nice park.
No, just a parking lot.
Best to contact them directly. When I asked about occupancy mid week last month they were running about 50%.
Most spots will be taken by then. Right now also have many folks fleeing fires and/or covid restrictions, so finding open camping spots anywhere can be challenging.
Yes
You do not need to be a veteran to camp here. And please thank your husband for his service for me!
As a note some internet (via ph data) is barely accessible in the areas closest to the bathroom.
Currently, the park is still closed to campers
$35 for a campsite with one vehicle. $9 for each additional vehicle. Schoenen Tag Noch!
A campsite with one vehicle is $35 per night.
Camp sites are not reservable but are only first come first served. Usually in Winter it is not too busy unless there is some event in the area. However, I have only visited the park in the mornings for hiking, so I don't know what it is like later in the day. I would recommend arriving as early as you can, get the site, and then explore Monterey.
Tent sites are $30 a night. They are first come first serve. https://www.monterey.org/Services/Parks-and-Beaches/Camping-and-Hiking
It's a first come first get campsite no reservations the campsites are big enough for two tents depending on size of tent plus limit of people are 8 per site
https://monterey.org/Services/Parks-and-Beaches/Camping-and-Hiking. This should tell you most of what you need to know. First come, first serve basis. I did not know this. Its a beautiful park! Have fun!
Yes they are allowed but restrictions on the hours you can use them.
Some spaces are larger than others. Lots of people bring trailers there.
Yes
Water is there. Electricity we have not fined.
There's a park ranger with small office, cash or credit card doesn't matter. If you stay 3 nights then might as well reserve a spot for 3 nights. Camp sites are very close to each other and small.
The website states that all campsites are not reservable; they're first-come, first-served.
there are firepits at all drive up sites.
Look at the Google Maps photos. $30
Get there really early: 7am on holidays or 10am on normal weekends. You find your own site when it becomes free. You can reserve before people leave their site by placing a tent or something there and putting your reservation paper on the clipboard outside the site you are waiting on.
Call and talk to John he runs the place
They don't take reservations, but aim at before checkout as there is a three day max thus everyday someone is likely to be on the way out
There is a 3 day limit, so easy to relatively easy all year
If you ride a bike in or hike in with your camping gear it's$6 a night
Seems it's always busy. Yet if you come early you'll probably find campsite
Only dry caming, yes you can bring a stove
Yes and most campgrounds charge extra for more than 1 extra car
Contact the park curator. He is there daily.
How much is the fee for the night
Camping is public in the sense anyone can camp paying the nightly fee. The Rangers office has a board displaying official prices. Its $30-35 a night anf an extra charge per vehicle. The park itself is available go the public without a fee
