Good question to bring up to the parks department. Thats who operates the facilities.

The fees are reasonable considering you have hot showers and clean bathrooms and Ice Park good-size campsites big enough for small to medium trailers plenty of room for tents and also camp sites for bikers and I don't mean motorcycles
No military or veteran discount. They don't play reveille, retreat, or taps — the fencing of the park is adjacent to a military institute, that's where the bugle calls are played.
Interesting. I came as a chaperone on a high school trip. I loved that they played revellie and taps each morning and evening. I did not know the park was owned by the city of Monterey.
Good question, I've asked and received something non-committal as a response. The park is a municipal park, ie: owned by the city of Monterey.
In 2022 they offer a $5 discount for vets and active duty military.
