Nice staff. Clean bathhouse. Quiet. Sites are close with little privacy. We were told WiFi was “available but not guaranteed.” After many attempts, I was able to connect one time. We’re not glued to our devices but it was frustrating not to be able to research where to go hiking and kayaking. We won’t stay there again unless we see that the WiFi has improved.

Campground is fairly pretty to look at, but some of the staff's attitude left us a sour taste in our mouth. Be careful not to screw up, or be prepared for some attitude. Internet is very slow and constantly breaks down. Other than that, most of the other residences and staff are friendly, wave, and generally act descent to their neighbors and or patrons.

I was apprehensive when the website said they preferred seasonal or long term rentals. Other RV parks with seasonal renter trend to look poorly and run down but Raccoon Holler was a very pleasant surprise. The park is well managed and maintained. Our site, 112, was quiet and very shaded in among the mountain rhododendrons. A fantastic location just a quarter mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway and nearby to West Jefferson with nice shops and crafts. I already plan to return. Make reservations in advance because sort term rentals are limited. We camped at Raccoon Holler Campground in a Travel Trailer.
