We had a great stay at the Royal Sonesta. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and spacious. We stayed in a suite with two adults, two toddlers, and an infant. The decor of the hotel is charming and eclectic while simultaneously feeling modern, clean, and high quality. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, including everyone from the front desk to housekeeping, and overall exceptional service. There was valet parking but we arrived Saturday night and we’re able to park for free on the street directly in front of the hotel.

This place needs a little TLC. If it wasn’t for the fun wall paper in our room it would have felt a lot more like a motel than a 4 start hotel. There were stains on the walls, the furniture is all scratched, the grout was moldy looking and coming off the sink, and the toilet smelled like pee. The bed was decently comfortable but the blanket was super thin. The window drapes don’t close all the way so it’s impossible to have the room completely dark. And lastly I woke up to a weird mechanical screeching sound. It wasn’t horrible, and we were there for just a night, but there are better options down town.

We were greeted in a beautiful lobby by helpful and very friendly staff, only to find our room with an unexpected PERFECT view of Mt hood! The room was very cute, clean and spacious, we could walk to anything our hearts desired including a cute coffee place around the corner in the morning! If you stay here I also recommend that you experience the Dosha Spa with private entrance from the lobby!! We will definitely go back as it is our favorite place to stay in Portland now!

One of the prettiest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. We got a HUGE room at a great price and it was such interesting decor. The staff was super friendly too and I loved that you can just text the front desk instead of having to call down. I asked for a fan and they had it brought up super quick.
