I was at Excelsior from Feb. 98-Oct. 98, and I had a ball. I met people from Iowa to The Virgin Islands. It really helped me to open up socially to strangers. I recommend it to others.

I attended Excelsior Springs Job Corps back in the early 90's. Got my GED and a welding trade was Color guard, Honor guard, student government, Big brother Big sisters, an honor student and a member of the choir. And I thought it was a very enlightening experience it was worth while and very helpful. I've been to 2 Job Corps and of the two Excelsior was the better of the two. Dr. Fennel was the Center Dircertor and Grace was pretty much head of security. Sabria Shepard was head of Big brothers Big sisters and such at the time. If you wanted to make something of yourself all you had to do was apply yourself.

Honestly wasn't that bad, if you're there to focus on what you need to do to better yourself

Thank you for the question, no support animals are not allowed on this campus. As for the bed time and curfew that will be 10 p.m. on the weekdays, we will wake up at 6 a.m. in the morning to go to breakfast. On the weekends the curfew will be at 12 p.m. if you have any other questions please feel free to send me another question thank you.
No they do not
We have an education building people are in all kinds of levels and they also have IEPs
After covid19 public opportunities have been low. I am not entirely sure. I will send an email out to the instructor and see if it's a possibility. Email me at tdperry 1197 At gmail. com so I can get back with you
No, you don't. My son lives 5 min away from the Center. But he doesn't get to ride the bus there. If you live on campus, you are able to have access to many things. You can ride a bus and go to different stores to go shopping, or other fun spots. You will have access to a medical professional. There's tutoring available as well. Lots of benefits either way. Call Rebecca and find out 😁
No, Job Corps doesn't provide off campus housing. We have non-residental students that attend, but they all provide their own housing.
From your school district you graduated or talk to this CTS person if you graduated from Job Corps
Yes u can

There is no age limit for non residential students
I am not for sure but more than likely no. You should call job corp and ask.
South Campus off Swope Parkway and multi purpose center.
Went there in 1977 it was ckean free riom and board small pay and training.Clean Place.!Lived the area.I rook line cook, server, and dishwashing operator.
They do.
During my time there, I've seen them cater to a few events. Even some events I've done a Color Guard for. The best thing for you to do would be to call up there, get in touch with one of the Culinary Arts instructors and ask the question. You'll get a much more direct and reliable answer.
Classes don't necessarily have a "start/end" date. It's self-paced, for the most part. But normally, you'll start on get started in the center somewhere between a Tuesday and Thursday.
Not not anymore
You have to go online to apply for a job
They reccomend that you are but if you arent they can still accept you and if they do you have like a 30 day period on center to flush your system. If you pass your first urine analysis you're fine but if you fail it than you gotta take a second one and pass that in order to stay on campus
Call your local unemployment office
Its through your local unemployment / carreer center , it is through the labor department
