This shelter should be shut down. ‘Favoriting’ is an absurdity, due to the fact that they ‘care, not rescue’ animals for homes. I personally have a story with a certain dog that went on for 6 months. SIX MONTHS. Photos of the dog in the office and chilling, made up in holiday gear as well. Then nothing. I had 7 people call from animal control friends, rescues (not shelters) as my reference. And the ONLY response I got (not even ME) was ‘that’s cool. I’ll rely the message.’ If you’re serious of caring and homing animals, I’d suggest actually doing that.

I had a decent experience adopting from this shelter. They made me have an appointment to come see the animals and when I did, I wasn’t able to take one home immediately because they said someone else had first dibs already but apparently that person fell through and they did call me to adopt. I found the process to be a little annoying but since I live close, I was ok with it. I am assuming they are screening their adopters very well and maybe that is why they don’t seem to allow same day adoptions. After all, adopting an animal is a life long commitment and too many people don’t understand that. I found the shelter to be clean and the animals to be taken care of. I see them walking the dogs outside often when I drive by. They allowed me ample time to see the animals and decide on which one I connected with. I also understand they temporarily house lost animals until their owners are located. Overall, I found this shelter to be one worth adopting from and I will adopt from them again.

Yes you are. You should ask to hold them. They do not have a cattery so petting them and holding them is a good idea.
Yes
They have an Amazon wish list of what they need as far as donations.
No you do not. I adopted 2 cats and I'm from Bergen County
Yes they have a bunny in the lobby who needs a home friendly and uses litterbox
If you have a pet that was found and is staying there you need to call them and show proof of ownership Inc rabies vaxx
As far as I know they keep all there animals at that location
Clyde was adopted a few months ago.
As long as your paperwork is all in order and depending on their hours of operation, it could be about 48 hours I rescued a dog from there 2 months ago and it was a smooth, painless transition not only are we happy but our new addition seems to be as well
