It was the best hostel experience of my life! Very clean, organized, breakfast, reliable people! Highly recommend and when I return to San Diego I will stay here again!

Pedro and all the volunteers are very nice people. Everyone is always ready to help and are super attentive. I had a problem with the booking regarding my reservation and Pedro did not measure efforts to solve it in the best way. Clean, comfortable place with amazing energy

First time staying in a Hostel, originally I wanted to stay in La Jolla. On my way to San Diego, I received a text confirming my check-in, that was considerate. When I arrived, I had to ring the service buzzer twice before getting assistance (the employee sitting at the computer did not acknowledge my presence initially) When I checked in, I was asked to pay for my entire stay, although I was initially charged for the 1st day ( I checked in as private guest) I was provided a parking pass because of being a private guest, however on Thursday, and Friday I received a towing violation. I submitted the violations to management. On Friday, my room was not cleaned. As I came back from LA Fitness, I spoke to the house attendant who was cleaning the room right next to mine (Room E) I was in Room F. She stated that she did not speak English, and that my room was not on her list. I even ask if I could get a broom to sweep the room myself (sand from the beach was on the floor) she just smiled, saying "No English!" The 1 Star represents the potential of this Hostel. Great location from Ocean Beach, Pacific Ocean Beach, Mission Bay Beach, and La Jolla Beach. Places to walk down Voltaire Blvd for entertainment, food, etc. The guests were personable. I met Marien, who was starting her teaching assignment as a German instructor. I also had a competitive ping-pong adventure with Tina. The kitchen was available to all the guest to use, including the utensils. Being asked to pay for my entire stay while checking in was a **red flag** ( I had witnessed other Customers checking in, without being asked to pay in advance). In fact one woman while checking in on Friday evening, specifically stated that she only wanted to be charged for the 1st night). When the house attendant refused to clean my room after politely requesting the service, that was another **red flag**. Having had 2 tow warning notices put on my car was another **red flag** ( lack of communication from management to the church faculty...parking was in the church parking lot) In good faith, I believe that management had been tipped off by former business associates: Keith, Robert, Scott, Casandra, Lauren and Serena to possibly provide this type of treatment. Note: My previous review and rating was removed. I am curious to see how long this review and rating remains. I am also curious to see if management will respond to my review.

Perfect location(close to beach, surrounded by good cafes and restaurants), clean, cozy, super nice and easygoing staffs, convenient services for bike/board rentals. Truly perfect hostel to enjoy PB. Everything I need was just there. I definitely recommend this place to all travellers.

Hey Audrey, children are welcome only in the Private Rooms, not in the dormitories.
Yes . You just have to check online for available dates
YES. THEY ARE COPYWRITING US AND WE ARE A SEPARATE ENTITY. THEY ACTUALLY ARE NOT LEGAL TO OPERATE.
There are plenty of free parking on the street. We also have parking on site for $7/night. You can call us to reserve it at 619 832 1127
There are smaller private rooms that fit 3 people. You could put more in but they charge you more I'm not sure how much. It also gives you a private bathroom. The other rooms are dormitory-style so basically 6 8 12 people to a room. Male and female in the same room. There were parties on the deck that did have alcohol involved I think a lot of it depends on the age of your children. I found all of the people I met there from literally all over the world we're very respectful. ..
