I had a great , seamless transaction when buying the car so the Sales team gets 5 stars from me. Unfortunately in past 3 weeks since buying the car, I have had the car in service 3+ times. Carmax’s service department is horrible! I dropped my car off at my 11am appointment on Tuesday and by Thursday 11am they haven’t even looked at my car yet. I went, picked up my car, brought it to precision auto and had my car back the same day. Seems to me that their service is very unorganized and possibly very under staffed. I would advise you to service your car elsewhere.

You bring your car, title and keys. They will do a 20 minute inspection and then give you a quote that is good for 10 days. That's it!
Masks are required. The lobby is set up for social distancing. Bathrooms are open. The vehicles are sanitized between test drives. We bought a vehicle in February and our experience was excellent. They did a great job of not letting the pandemic negatively impact the customer experience. I would try to go at a time when it won't be their busiest because they do have limits for how many people can be in the lobby.
