Excellent music at a great venue!

Mrs. Telma de Mello must be that kind of person who takes pictures of food dishes and takes selfies even at funerals. He doesn't know anything about New Orleans, let alone jazz. Save the great temple Preservation Hall!!

Amazing experience. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll go again. Of course you have to like music. ;-)
William Moore
A great show of traditional New Orleans jazz.

They have 5 shows a night, rotating performers. Shows at 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10pm. Lineup outside about 45-60 minutes prior to show.
No food, drinks, or restrooms. You can carry in drinks and use the restrooms at Pat O'Brien's next door.
Yes. Think it's $20 to see a 45 minute show. Don't go if you're not going to see a show. Totally worth it.
You'll be fine just know that there are no restrooms in the hall
Either the first or the last. If yiu haven't bought tickets, be prepared to wait in line for 1-2 hours beforehand.
No animals. And if you you need to bring a service animal, you will want to pay for a reserved seat. The rest is standing room only.
There is an entry ticket. Check their website for schedule and tickets availability.
No. No photos or videos allowed. You wait outside at a certain time and go in a small room after they take cash only. If you try to take photos it's a bit obvious. Lovely music and a great evening anyway
It is not a restaurant or bar. Infact Preservation hall does not serve food or drinks at all it is simply a jazz hall. There is limited seating also (which is usually all taken unless you reserve). It depends on your child. if your toddler can sit quietly for 1hr it would be fine otherwise i wouldnt recommend it. As you are right up close to the band in a very intimate setting and set only lasts 45mins it may be better to leave your toddler with a friend or relative if its possible they may be a distraction? But again depends on the kid... Hope this is helpful
Depends on what time you go. The Presentation Hall masters usually play the 5 and 6 sets and the The Presentation Hall Allstars play the 8,9,and 10 sets. You need to give them a call to be sure though.
The schedule and the price is online
I'm not sure did you contact Preservation Hall? We purchased tickets about a month out before we got to New Orleans. Good luck awesome show!
I'm not sure if the official rules but I'm going to fired the answer will be no.
http://preservationhall.com/hall/ have a blast
We did ours when we were there. U might try that.
You can purchase tickets online. http://preservationhall.com/hall/
I went on a weekday evening and the line was quite long. I suspect it's always a lengthy line ... We scouted it out the night before and it was crazy busy then too. The show is worth it in every way though! You really have to go no matter what.
As long as they are on the quest list they dont.
Yes - $20 - CASH - at the door - get in line half hour before session starts. And you can do reserved tickets online before for like $40 and they just seat you first up front before everyone else waiting in line paying only $20.
You can assure good seats and no wait with "big shot" tickets online, they're about twice the price. Else as everyone says, stand in line, buy a bottle of wine or whiskey and some glasses and enjoy the wait, Preservation Hall is BYOB. The music is surreal, the vibe and space gorgeous. I got in line 30 mins in advance on a Thursday for the 8pm show, got seats right up front on cushion on the floor, right under the bands nose. Super.
I say uber. I drive a larger truck and it was always a pain trying to park it. Taxis are also typically a big pain in NOLA. But I guess if you deal with that many drunken fools you tend to not care about your customer service.
Get there early... like an hour before..first come first served. Now with that said I believe there are only 20 chairs to sit on....a bench that goes around the hall. Is it worth $40 or $50 ... I loved it .... but $80 for a hour for two is a bit higher than I thought was necessary. I would opt to stand or sit on the floor cushions and as I leave donate $40 on the way out.
If late u will be standing place gets jammed up.
Yes, open when it rains. Buy reserved seats. Problem solved.
You can buy the big shot tickets online which guarantees you a seat or you can wait in line (the lines run pretty long)
No, its not Will Smith the actor, they just share the name. He's the bandleader of the Preservation Hall All Stars band.
Ok. So 40 minutes will maybe get you a seat. Half hour will definitely get you in
