Mayflowers Chinese Restaurant

My husband and I ate dinner at the Mayflower restaurant in Urbana, Ohio yesterday. I ordered the Almond Chicken. It was absolutely terrible. The chicken, or whatever it was, was so hard and burnt to a crisp. When Carol finally came over to our table I showed her the plate and told her that the food was terrible and very burnt. She said, and I quote her exact words, “I know, I know it is burnt but I am very busy and I have to do it all”. She turned and walked away. She never offered or attempted to replace my meal. My husband ordered some kind of seafood meal. He said it was not great but it was eatable. The fact that she admitted and knew the the food was burnt and not eatable and served it to me anyway and never offered to prepare me another plate speaks volumes about her character and her business. I read many reviews before trying this restaurant and they were all good. We did not have a good experience and we will not be going back there.

I'm so glad there is a nice Chinese restaurant here in uptown Urbana. I stopped in here for lunch around noon. I ordered the hot & spicy princess chicken along with an egg roll. That was a GREAT choice. The food was very hot, fresh, and delicious. I loved the crunchy, fresh egg roll with the sweet & sour sauce. As a bonus I ordered a small bottle of sake to go. I love this restaurant and will return soon for a nice Chinese dinner. 🈴❤️🍴

The owner Carol, husband Dale, are amazing people, they have been in business for a long time, and they love their community. They will go out of their way to fix you the best cuisine they can offer. They are very kind, down to earth, and they bring out the best in Champaigne County. I just can't say enough about how wonderful they are to know ❤️

Mayflowers is one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to, even having lived near Chinatown in NYC for many years. It also has to be in the running for the best restaurant overall in Urbana. Particularly tasty are the wonton soup …Thinks for your support Mayflower Carol.
