The video in the museum is really dated, and therefore very funny. Enjoy that. Overall it's a place steeped in history and worth a visit purely on that basis.

Was here many years ago, and decided to return. The visitor center was good, short movie and some artifacts on display. The battlefield drive is pretty much a let down, at least for now. Not much to see, almost no placards or monuments. I guess I thought it was going to be more like Gettysburg. Still glad I did it though.. being a history buff. Many stops along the way are closed, which I assume is for updating and building up area for the 250th anniversary of probably the MOST important battle of the American Revolution... ok. Not probably.. THE MOST IMPORTANT. Because of its importance, I guess I expected more... The battlefield run would be an awesome bike run, if you so incline.

They arent sold at Saratoga because this park is free to enter. The closest place to get one in person is the Green Mountain National Forest office in Rutland VT
"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time." The Battles of Saratoga sites are Hallowed Grounds: * About 800 American Patriots were killed in the battles * British side lost about 1500 men.* Thanks to our National Park Service for helping us in honoring & remembering the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives in 1777 to give us freedom today.
There are still a few cannons on the battlefield. ( They were never going to leave the hundreds of cannons that were there in 1777)
It is self guided, we took our car, but if you want to get out you can.
Yes. The road is open until 5 pm. The trails are also open. The building is closed.
Yes but call and they will arrange the lecture.
The road will open to vehicle traffic on July 1st, 9am-5pm. Visitor center and historical buildings still remain closed. Grounds are open sunrise to sunset.
The visitor center and tour road will be closed, but the grounds are open sunrise to sunset to pedestrians
But the roads around the park are wonderful for bike riding. You can ride your bike between the stops and visit them all.
I believe they were to actual British cannons that were used during the Revolutionary War that were found at the battlefield itself while walking through the battlefield you will see white with blue stripes which represent the American Army's along with white with red stripes that represent the British
There is no hunting on the battlefield or federally protected lands.
The park has hiking trails and historical items. It has all of the information regarding the battle and a movie which is very informative. They also have a shop and artifacts from the battle on display.
Museum and displays and helpful folk inside. Nice ride along road but would definitely recommend the audio guide.
