We’re here to meet all of your propane needs, but you should absolutely call us if you have any of the following. Smell propane, Suspect you have a leak in your system, Need a propane appliance connected or disconnected, Move, or if there will be a change in tenant status, Purchase a new or replace an existing propane appliance, or Have plans for an outdoor project that requires digging. If you have any of those items please call us today!
We were founded back in the spring of 1966, when Match Taranovich, the son of immigrants, bought the propane and appliance side of Proctor Coal Company from George D. Johnson. With his wife, young son, and only two employees, Match set off to provide the best propane sales, installation, and service in the greater Proctor, Vermont area – and that’s just what he did! Over 40 years later, Proctor Gas remains a family-owned and -operated business serving Addison, Rutland, Bennington, and Windsor counties.
Yes we do! For more than five decades, the customer-oriented team at Proctor Gas has been traveling all throughout Addison County to bring the best propane delivery, installation, and service to as many of our neighbors as possible.
Propane will have a strong, unpleasant smell like rotten eggs, a skunk’s spray, or a dead animal. Because propane is an odorless gas, manufacturers add this smell deliberately to help alert customers in the event of a leak. Make sure that there are no flames or sparks, leave the area immediately, shut off gas from outside if safe to do so, report the leak from a location nearby, do not return to the building or area, and get your system checked asap!
Yes! Propane is CLEAN & GREEN! Both the Clean Air Act of 1990 and the National Energy Policy Act of 1992 approve propane as a clean-burning alternative fuel. It’s nontoxic, doesn’t spill, and will not pollute groundwater, which makes it a safe fuel for underground storage.
