Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for senior citizens (65 and older), and $7 for children ages 6-14. Children under age 6 are free with the family.

It is the last Destroyer Escort ship from WWII in America. It was used to protect convoy missions across the Atlantic.
Slater reopens to the public, Wednesday 7 April 2021.
We believe that everyone gets so much more out of the tour when you are accompanied by a trained guide. Every tour is different because it is catered to the specific audience.
We do not move the ship for the winter months. The ship is closed to the public as the decks and ladders can be too icy.
We are open seasonally. So we are closing for the season, our last day will be December 1. We will re-open in the spring.
Veterans who served on Destroyer Escorts are always admitted at no charge. As part of the Blue Star Museums program, active duty military, with valid ID, are admitted at no charge through Labor Day. All other veterans are charged admission. USS SLATER is owned and operated by the private, non-profit Destroyer Escort Historical Museum. The Museum receives no regular Federal, State, or local government funding. It is supported through the generosity and patriotism of individuals, corporations, and foundations.

USS SLATER is open April through November, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours continue rain or shine. Please dress appropriately. Rain jackets are preferable, rather than umbrellas.
USS SLATER will open to the public at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3rd. Once open, hours will be Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The ship will be closed Easter Sunday, April 21st.
USS SLATER is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitation varies by day and is largely determined by weather. Tours continue rain or shine. In the summer, an early start is usually best.
USS SLATER is not wheelchair accessible. The Observation Deck on shore is accessible. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for senior citizens, and $7 for children ages 6-14. Destroyer Escort Sailors are admitted at no charge. The Museum participates in the Blue Star Museums program, so active duty military are admitted at no charge Memorial Day through Labor Day.
