Wekiva Island is a great place to hang out with friends, lay out in the sun, various activities available like kayaking, paddle boarding, volleyball, cornhole, etc. Nice sized bar, good food. I recommend to get there as early as possible cause parking can be a challenge and they may even be full quickly. Otherwise a must visit. Always a fun time.

Best $$spent in Florida.. we have our own kayaks and enjoyed every second.

We loved the atmosphere.

Yes. Very much so. A lot of clean up has gone on here.
Yes.
I believe at the bar. They have sing next to it on the way to the bathrooms with prices.
Yes,
No. And any coolers you bring in are subject to be being searched
You can swim in the river, but it is not clear like the swimming area at the state park.
It is not a necessity,as there are chairs and spots to sit or layout. However,in the summer season,it will most likely be fuller in capacity. I recommend you bring a couple of small/easy seats to sit
A BIG Thank-you to him for his service. We love W.I. Hope you both will have a great time when you go. Brian ARMY Vet
It's good for canoeing....I've been going for about 30 years...I wouldn't recommend paddle boarding without being very familiar with the river..... There obviously is a current, fallen trees and obstacles… also..there are alligators. A woman got her arm bitten off swimming in the wrong area a few years back. I suggest you go canoeing a few times before deciding on paddleboarding there. It's a beautiful river...enjoy it.
Heidi, We do not take reservations on our canoes, kayaks or paddle boards. They are first come first served we open at 8 o’clock and we’re generally full by 10:30 AM. Arrive early to make sure you get the vessel you are looking for! We hope to see you tomorrow!
Fish, Alligators, turtles, birds, snake possibly and if insects are considered "animals" like some have said, yup some of them as well.
I can not lol
I've been there multiple times and it has always been free. Make sure you visit the clean up they have done on the Wekiva River. Excellent place to visit.
No. Pets are no longer allowed unless you have service animal verification.
Not sure but it is free to play
Nah they will get it..1
Every thing u need is there food fun drinks kid drinks all around good time
No you can't , you can launch one with a trolling motor attached
the entrance fee is $2 per person if you are staying at the property.
No dogs are allowed on Wekiva island. And Wekiva State Park they are allowed in campgrounds on a leash. No dogs are allowed in the Wekiva River ever because of being alligator bait.
The Rock Spring Run is open if you bring your own equipment you can run it from King's Landing to the Wekiva Island and you'll have to Uber back to pick up your car if you book a party of 8 to 10 you can book the bus to come pick y'all up and those rules could change but as of renting their canoes they're not doing bus pickups right now
Yes, we have Canoes for rent! They are $45 each canoe and there is a $2 per person entrance fee. You must complete our waiver to go our on our vessels. They can be filled out through this link: https://www.smartwaiver.com/w/5281a5107702c/web/
Uber may absolutely drop off and pick up BUT NOT when we are at Capacity.
I don't think there is a minimum age, but children have to be accompanied by an adult. They also provide life jackets. The rentals depend on the time frame you need them. For a full day is 35 dollars.. half day 30.
Absolutely we are! We open at 8 AM every day, Sunday through Thursdays we close at 9 PM Saturdays and Sundays we are always open until 11 PM. Starting September 3 we go back to our winter hours, we will be closing at 7 PM Sunday through Thursdays.
No. This is a bar and restaurant sitting on the spring where you can tube, paddle board, kayka and such on the river fed by the spring. The State Park Wekiva has camping and is just down the road.
yes, but the will not come close to you if you won't arrest them
They recently went to a no dog policy.
For the safety of or guests. It was a business decision we did not take lightly. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
Well they do sell food, so would be poor form to do so. We bring only if going out on a boat because it's practical. If they sold picnic lunch boxes I'd buy them.
Wekiva Island does not have nor has ever had glass bottom boats. Sorry! They would be very though!
I believe it's $10 to launch your own canoe or kayak. I know it's $20 you launch a small Jon Boat with motor
#travelformortals
no camping only until 5pm you allowed to stay until 6pm picking up.
Usually costs $1.00 to enter (wristband). They make their money through alcohal and food sales. Also, they check bags for outside alcohal. Awesome place to chill and meet people. Bring towels and sunscreen.
Building burnt down have a food truck there now, did not try heard it was amazing
I would suggest a call to the management on this one. Not sure what their policy is on outside food and cake if there's no cabana rental involved.
Yes
I'm not sure but the river isn't very deep and its extremely murky.
Yes you can, but not where everyone is swimming. They have canoes and kayaks for rent and I believe you can launch your own as well
If you rent before noon it's $35. After 12 noon it's $25. When you rent you have it the rest of the day so that is why the price differ. We only used it for a couple hours because we were really tired - paddling down stream no problem, paddling upstream not so easy.
There is actually alot of alligators there. There was an alligator attack right there to the left of the main swimming part, it was a year or more ago. The lady lost part of her arm..So please dont go there thinking there's no alligators in the area. Just be aware of your surroundings .
Weekdays is nothing, and on weekends it's $1 per person after you park your car.
Yes $25 and where you rent the canoes they have a cooler of free beer!
The springs are close, you can enjoy both. There is kyake and canou rentals there, you go up and down river to the island!
Light rain yes, lightening no, check fir stirms in area.
Rent a canoe or bring a boat. Bring your pole(s) with you. The best fishing is away from all the activity at Wekiva Island. Go early. Gates open at 8 AM. Later in the day it looks like a bunch of college kids and adults on spring break. Just wait long enough for the people to show up with their big flamingo rafts and stuff if you want to see. Water is hardly deep anywhere. Youtube Fishing Wekiva and you'll see the fish you can catch...but in my opinion, the best fishing is not on the main river, but roughly three to four miles down in a cut off...
Not at Wekiva Island. Perhaps the state park down the road.
It's free on the weekdays or when it's not busy. They will also close the entrance temporarily if there isn't any room to safely park, but I always just park somewhere on a close road and walk in when that happens.
There are hotels off Semoran Blvd in Altamonte Springs and Apopka. Which is like 3 to 5 Mikes away from Wakiva Island
