Tasty izakaya just around the corner from Shattuck avenue. Has a variety of seating from booths, pseudo tatami room tables, and two person benches. Very nice signature citrus Sochi cocktail. Draft beer choice limited— only 2 selections available out of five listed. Somewhat expensive for relatively small portions. Squid ink fried rice very tasty as was karage and kabocha tempura. Tsukuni (sp), ground chicken skewer, was dry though. Would not order again. Service friendly if a bit brusque.

Been here too many times. If you see this review, you have to try this place at least once. Love every thing I order here and will always be back when I can’t think of another place to eat on a Friday night.

This Izakaya in Berkeley is yummm👌if you don’t have a reservation, wait is 30 mins-1 hour. But you should definitely wait. Chicken hearts are perfectly tender and smoky. And I wish I can eat this corn fritter every week! Sweet and salty and crispy. Spinach in black sesame sauce is a whole new level of tasty town. Staffs are very efficient, professional and friendly. The only complaint I have is I wish I didn’t have to sit next to dirty rags when I sat at the bar section.
