The grounds are beautiful and the view is stunning. We have eaten in the restaurant and were planning a trip back this summer. When I checked the website it says the restaurant is closed for the 2022 season. Sad, we were really looking forward to going.

Amazing views food is great Wife and I had BBQ sandwiches friend had Italian dish and was great, another had ribs and was delicious. We were in town staying at Walden Woods riding SXS , short drive and recommend it ,service was good. We thought prices would be high since you have to make reservations, they were reasonable and dress code was casual. We will be back next trip.

I don't know about about lodge, but as far as the restaurant goes the view is the only thing that's special As far as a restaurant goes, this is one of the worst and most disappointing experiences I've had in a long time. For a place that seemed so "exclusive" (and not cheap) I was expecting a 5-star experience. However, there were so many issues it would be easier to just list them in a numbered format: 1) The carpet around our table looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a week, and the tables did not look particularly clean either. Even my menu looked dirty. They were paper menus and mine had stains on it from whoever used it last. 2) There were two or three items that were on the menu on their website online that we tried to order and they didn't make them anymore. Apparently they never never update their online menu to reflect what they actually have available. 3) Our waitress was nice, but there were numerous issues that came up that I just couldn't believe was happening. For example even as she was bringing out our food we still did not have utensils or napkins and had to ask for them, and they weren't nice cloth napkins like you get in a nice restaurant (or one that costs this much) they were just your basic napkins like you'd get at McDonald's. 4. Probably the most unbelievable thing that happened was, four or five people (we had a part of 11) in our crew ordered the pulled pork nachos. Every single one came out with any pulled pork on them...at all. My brother finally asked after a little bit how the pork was and one of my cousins said they didn't have any on it. We told the waitress who found out what happened and unbelievably, instead of telling a manager and offering them some money off of their bill or something, she brought out a plate of pulled pork so they could put it on their half-eaten, pulled pork-less, pulled-pork nachos.. which by then why bother? The view truly is AMAZING, and that alone is worth the trip, just don't expect a great dining experience on top of it.

All in all a very good experience. Not the first and definitely not the last time I will go.. The bread was warm and good with the butter. The Salmon was good. The Ribs were huge, pretty tender and had a good flavor. Group of four, the waitress as decently attentive and tried to be proactive with refills and such. to have any suggestion - for the price, butter, sour cream, etc should not come out in prepacked plastic containers... 1 as always the view is amazing and everyone was very friendly

Wouldn't be an issue. Passenger drop off is right at the front door and so you can either walk in and see the view through the windows or take the fairly level walk to the side of the building for the open air deck.
Only room for our family.
It is a private community just call ahead and make a reservation and you'll be whisked past the gate.
1953. The current owners will not allow access to the mountain without reservations. The guard at the gate has a s#@ty attitude . Not a real good first opinion. Don't have a clue what's up there and if it's worth a reservation to dine. So I won't go back. Not inviting for public dining.
The mountain is private property. If you don't make a reservation they won't put you on the list at the entrance to be allowed to drive up.
Thanks for the answers... yes, we plan to reopen March 15th (weather permitting
We reopen Mid March until early December. Reservations are required.
You do have to have lodge or restaurant reservations to enter the property. McCloud Mountain is a private resort so sightseeing is unfortunately not allowed without a reservation.
Everything online states the reservations only policy, we are in the process of changing all signage to state that as well. Being a private community, the transient traffic became too great to allow an open gate policy. I am truly sorry if you were inconvenienced by this, but please know that we are working hard to make our policy more public (both billboard and directional)
Dont believe they are i believe they are closed for season may want to call to be sure
