We had the pleasure of staying in the Caboose at The Depot Lodge and will absolutely be returning! The grounds are a dream. Nature in all her beauty - Paint Bank Branch running thru the garden and woods, emptying into Potts Creek. The expansive fields with lush grass, fragrant Autumn Olives and mountains lining the background. It's all just so gorgeous. The Caboose is adorable, so quaint and decorated perfectly. It's small, the bathroom and shower room are tight but it was just fine for us. We happened to stay on a very hot (89°+ ) day and no ac in the Caboose was tough but it did cool off in the night with the windows open. A standing, oscillating fan would be the only improvement I can think of. The common room is well stocked and a nice added bonus. The general store across the street has good basics just like a general store should. I was surprised to find a milkshake and protein smoothie maker. The restaurant is very convenient as there isn't any other food options anywhere near by. No gluten free options which is something I'm always hopeful for but not surprised when there's nothing but salad, potatoes and meat, haha. It has a cute gift shop upstairs. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly return!

Where do I begin.. we had a wonderful, relaxing, and peaceful get away to Paint Bank, VA! The Depot Lodge and Caboose were decorated so pretty for the Christmas holiday!! We stayed in the Caboose and were so glad we got to have this experience! The Caboose was cozy and nicely decorated. The gas fireplace added to the ambiance! Definitely on our will return to places!! There are some walking trails you can take and a creek runs right behind the Caboose! We enjoyed the sound of the water so close to our windows.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! if you are looking for an escape from the busy day to day life this is your place. The staff was amazing and helpful. Fully stocked breakfast bar and drinks. The rooms are amazing from the master suite to the smaller rooms upstairs. I definitely will be coming back again.
