Apparently, the Hippocratic Oath is meaningless any more. Given the run around, told I was under primary care of someone I had never seen or heard of before, and was promised a return call that didn't happen. Absolutely useless.

I’ve had my ups and downs here over the years. It always depends on who is helping you and if they really actually care about helping. Over the years I’ve felt like I have just become 1 Among many and it sucks. My most recent interactions here have gone much better. Their phone response times have I’m proved and I truly feel like Brenda Geloff wants to help. I look forward to finally getting things under control with the proper tools. It’s always a battle and it gets tiring. So many phone calls with insurance, doctors and pharmacies just to get the bare minimum needed. Let’s hope to smoother processes in the coming years.

My son sees Dr. Hansen and we have had great experiences with him and the Joslin Center. We never have to wait long at appointments and the staff is friendly. Dr. Hansen ensures that all of our questions are addressed as well. We are able to set up appointments that work with our schedule and any time I have used the patient portal to get questions answered, we get a timely response. The menu to get a live person on the line is a bit long but understandable as they want to get you to the right staff. Overall, I am very happy with the care my son receives as a patient.

Working with the Joslin Diabetes Center has been the worst experience I have ever had with a medical facility. The people who work the front desk are unable to answer questions, they will tell you things that are incorrect, and will not follow-through on requests. And gosh they are so consistently rude both in person and on the phone! I've never experienced anything like it-- all I can think is that maybe it is an incredibly bad place to work for people to be so awful. Most of my negative impression is based on front desk and call-in interactions. The nursing staff has actually seemed quite nice, although for phlebotomy we have to go elsewhere because they did such a poor job with blood draw on my young daughter. Once the front desk told me there was no way I could change the doctor my daughter saw in the practice, even though my daughter was uncomfortable with her doctor and wanted a change, and may daughter's pediatrician said it was an appropriate request. I was surprised at this and the folks at the front desk said well I should just go to some other city to get care if I didn't like it, there was nothing that they would do. I had to go to the director of the facility to to get that issue resolved which is ridiculous. Just simple requests like how to get a standing order for a lab requisition is a nightmare. Life is tough enough without people being so rude and unhelpful... in a medical facility of all places. The way they run the front service feels like an poorly managed cattle call.. Even the lines don't work properly. My review is not based on one interaction but multiple over several years. I wish that we could go directly to Upstate endocrinology or that there were good alternatives in Syracuse but there aren't. I feel trapped there. I hate to leave a negative review for anything, but I am hard-pressed to say anything positive about the Joslin Center. If you actually have a choice you should definitely go elsewhere.

They should be able to since they are Endocronologists. Best to consult with your physician and they could refer you to them.
