Traveled from CA for my Birthday celebration, highly anticipated the dining experience. First no one answers the phone , and there is an old recording . Went on Sept 2nd , the gentleman said they were closed he was advised not to let anyone else in at 8:30 .Went back on Sept 3rd and there is a sign which read “ closed to observe Labor Day “ . Please update your outgoing message and 2nd designate someone to answer the phone . I understand it’s a historic establishment and so your demand is great and so maybe customer service is not priority on your list : however I suggest that a more personable approach would be welcoming . This was $80 wasted in Uber fares.Extremely disappointing !!

This place is located a little way from the centre of the popular parts of the city but this iconic restaurant is certainly worth a visit on any trip to New Orleans. The food and service are excellent, and our server Terry was amazing; people around us commented that we had the best server, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The personal touch of the owner visiting each table was great. We had the shrimp linguine, fried chicken with Mac and cheese, stuffed shrimp and bread pudding, all of which were great, though I imagine any dish on the menu will not disappoint. Although not the most important thing, the value for money offered is fabulous.

If you search Dookie Chase on Google the card on the right-hand side will show the today's hours. You can expand it to show every day of the week.
No. Although it is normally very busy, so you may have to wait for a table.
Yes. They have their own parking that usually fills up. There is PLENTY of parking on the street side...
Yes, & dinning in.
No
I sure hope you got it!!! She passed away today. May her beautiful soul rest in peace...
You should call them ASAP direct. It won't be easy being a friday but it might be possible. Enjoy, the food is amazing.
We just walked in but it was more towards the end of lunch so we were seated immediately. If going in prime lunch hour I would think it would be helpful. Enjoy a fantastic experience!
The lunch buffet is $20. Outside of that, the main dishes range from $15 to $25. Well worth the price. I'd try and make it to the buffet because you get so many options and comes with a soup and dessert.
A trolley car (street car) No. But a regular sedan vehicle (uber), Yes.
Absolutely eat there. The food is amazing but the experience of eating there in the amazing art and the uniqueness of the restaurant itself it's just as important
Yes. Call them.
They Are Closed
Yes
Just in case, be sure you add a 1 to the beginning if calling from out of area, or state.
Yes, from what I can recall.
It is 10 mins by car. But you also are already on Google. Just use Google maps. It is super helpful and WAYYY better than Apple Maps. Save yourself some time and headache and use Google Maps for these kinda questions.
When my family and i eat there on a Wednesday the attire was casual.
Yes, but it is limited. They have a parking lot behind the building and another across the street. Folks park on the street, but the staff advised not to park there because a lot of trucks and vehicles pass through.
Mask When U Enter When Ur Seated To Eat Then U Take Off Mask.
I'm not sure but, i did dine in recently
No you don't need reservations for Dookie's
They are currently closed due to roof repair. Reopen on August 11, 2020.
I ate there on a Friday and there was a 15 minute or so wait without a reservation. The stuffed shrimp were delicious and worth the wait. Unsure of the hours of service.
Crab legs wasn't something I saw on the menu either. So I agree its best to call and ask.
No. Same number, just very busy.
They will probably be very accommodating. These people are wonderful!
If your in the city go to merils instead....much better service and varied food menu.....options other than deep fried food
On fridays only they offer a dinner meal as well as their normal lunch
On the buffet it is oven prepared striped and soaked in a juice
Yes, Dress Code Mrs. Chase requests that all diners adhere to a dress code that promotes a family and professional atmosphere. Tank tops, hats/caps (men), midriff tops exposing stomach, short shorts or ripped jeans exposing upper thigh or buttock area and clothing with offensive, profane, or obscene slogans are not permitted in the dining area.
I don't think so LoRessa, but please call the restaurant and check if your service animal is allowed. From my experience the staff was outstanding and quite courteous. This is one place I would recommend to anyone visiting NOLA!
I'm heartbroken that I drove all the way from Texas 6 hours and was turned away by the hostess. Unfortunately I was not aware that I needed to make reservations..... Saddened that they could not accommodate me and my 13 year old.
Not required but recommended fills up fast
