Quick onion soup for lunch…

Stopped by for dinner based on the recommendation from our hotel front desk employee. Was only 3 blocks away. It was late at night, around 9pm and the service was good. Food was also good. We started with a glass of Pinot Noir along with the NOLA Blonde Ale. We had Seafood Pistolettes as an appetizer and they were tasty. We decided to split the Blackened Chicken Jambalaya. Some of the rice was undercooked but overall the food was good.

Way better than expected. Just walked off the street for a snack. Ordered blackened chicken/shrimp Alfredo and chicken & waffles. Damn good food, great pub atmosphere and friendly staff. A gem against the bourbon street tourist traps.

Same owners. Radically different. The cafe is more basic cajun and a little cheaper. Pierres is more upscale and imho better food. Fried green tomatoes are excellent. Cafe is on decatur. Pierres is chartres i think. Both are part of creole cuisine which also includes royal house, bombay club, kingfish, bayou burger and more.
