This was our dinner that was paid for by Amtrak and I was a little skeptical about what to expect. After confirming our reservations and returning from our days swamp adventure we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted, seated and treated almost as royalty. Our four courses included Gumbo du jour, house salad with a sugarcane vinaigrette, main course ( I had the roasted chicken, wife had the bbq shrimp and grits) followed by dessert of bread pudding. The staff from the Maitre d' ,our waitress and the other staff ensured we were taken care of. If you're in New Orleans I would definitely recommend you give Tujague's ( pronounced Two Jacks) a try.

Just ate with GIL as our server and everything from the food to the service and even the atmosphere in the new location was top notch! Service- Huge shout out to Gil (from on NOLA upscale/fine dining server to another) as he was friendly, attentive with out over being over bearing, and knowledgeable. I will have anyone I recommend go here to ask for him! Food- Started with the pork belly which my Indian husband who usually steers away from even loved, then wedge salad for me and the roasted tomato basil soup for him. The soup was more chunky than most tomato basil's I have had but it was so good! For our entrées we split the ribeye with shrimp (medium rare of course!) and the Gulf Fish which was red snapper topped with some sort of a crab sauce (?or something) with potatoes on side. New location- was done very well. With the reputation and notoriety Tujague's has being the second oldest restaurant in NOLA, it was probably nerve wracking making the decision to move, but it was the right choice! It still has the classic old school New Orleans feel! Everything was great and we can't wait to return soon!

This was suppose to be something like a fine dining experience and it was far from. Our waitress seemed to pay attention to her other table then to us. The herb chicken was delicious but the beinville was not it was gritty and bland. We were just over the experience and were ready to go.

There is not a dress code, but for one of the best and oldest restaurants in the country dress up a bit if you can. Regardless they will take care of you as they have for thousands of guests for hundreds of years.
Must wear a mask except when at your table. All servers wear masks.
Yes. Just play it safe y'all. It def fine dining! Business casual is perfectly fine. No shorts, jeans, and drunkenness. Great food, but a little stingy on portions. But if your doing a "special meeting event", great choice! Nice presentation.
Before the Pandemic, it was located further down on Decatur across from Cafe du Monde. There was no menu to select from. The chef always made a specific entree that night and they would bring out many courses before that. The food was always excellent and it still is but I do prefer having some choices now. If you go, get the Crawfish beignets. They are so good. They are so moist on the inside, not what you would think a typical beignet would be like. Yummy!
There's a pay parking lot right across the street!
We do not have a formal, printed children's menu; however, we can accommodate children with chicken fingers and fries or fried shrimp and fries.
If you're staying the bar area, casual clothes are ok. For dining, you may want to avoid short pants, no sleeve shirts, sandals, etc.
Thats a question for the establishment, not the community.
