There is not a dress code, but for one of the best and oldest restaurants in the country dress up a bit if you can. Regardless they will take care of you as they have for thousands of guests for hundreds of years.
I'd say you'd feel more appropriately dressed in business casual attire. The place is worth putting on khakis and a button down collar. One of the best meals you'll eat in New Orleans.

We recommend business casual for dinner service; however, blue jeans and shorts are welcome. Jackets and ties are not required for gentlemen. Lunch service dress code is casual.
We were in Business Casual and fit in with the other patrons. Didn't see blue Jean's or shorts. It's a great meal!
