I experienced the float tank yesterday, after a full weekend of work. As I breathed slowly and rhythmically and floated in the warm, dark, quiet space, I was able to replenish my energy stores. Toward the end I practiced some aqua yoga. The yoga practice was a very fluid experience. The buoyancy offered me an opportunity to experience the poses in a new way with new awareness. I felt so refreshed following my session.

First time. 90 full minutes of float time! Was better than any relaxation massage I have ever had. I will definitely do it again. Very secure and private experience. If you want to just shut out the world, this is a great way to do it! Also super clean everything. And no smells whatsoever. Like just neutral air inside tank and out. I expected chemical smell or something! very pleasant!

I received a couples float as a birthday present. We both had a great and relaxing time! I think we were the only guests there at the time. The rooms had showers right in them. They provide everything you need - shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, bathrobes, and ear plugs. The water was perfect temp. It does take a little bit to get acclimated and allow your body to fully relax. I’d say after about 30 minutes I felt muscles relax that I didn’t even know were tense. You enter in some sort of not thinking at all state of mind. It’s odd, but so relaxing. You feel weightless, you can no longer tell the difference between the air and water since it’s all one temperature and your mind becomes so clear without a thought. After the float my skin looked like a cad in the middle of winter covered in salt! No worries- just jump in the shower again. My skin was so soft afterwards, however my hair needed a deep conditioning when I got home. Only thing that would make it 5 star perfection would be to have a bathroom with a toilet in the room also. They do give you bathrobes in case you need to exit the room, but having a bathroom in the room would be perfect. Overall, great experience and I will do this again.

Thanks for the question Tammie! You may wear one, but we reccomend floating in the buff. It's central to feeling like you're floating on nothing!

So am I in or not on Friday at 11:30 am? Your site has mega problems. Nancy

Bodymind Float Center Syracuse | Sep 10, 2020

Sorry if you've had trouble making an appointment, Nancy! Even Springer is correct: you would get an email confirmation if an appointment has been made. You are not booked at present for any appointment on Friday. The best way to reach us is by phone at (315) 992-8656 or through the website at https://floatsyracuse.com. Google is a circuitous route and we have to depend on their alerting us to a comment, which is unreliable. We aren't aware of any problems with the website at present, so if you'd let us know what you're observing it would be much appreciated!

I have Hyperhidrosis and axiety. Would your facilities be helpful in improving my conditions?

A Google User | Sep 10, 2020
Bodymind Float Center Syracuse | Sep 10, 2020

If you haven't already done so, please check with a physician about your hyperhidrosis. It is usually harmless, but can be associated with serious conditions. If your hyperhidrosis symptoms are exacerbated by anxiety, floatation therapy may help. Floating is very helpful in reducing anxiety, both during the float session and for hours or days afterwards. Some report that floating reveals a new baseline of calmness and that they are able subsequently to draw upon this to help control anxiety. Here's an excellent study on floating and anxiety conducted at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research in Tulsa: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0190292.

They should have a record on their end. If you call they can confirm and you can redeem it when scheduling. Everyone there is really helpful and friendly.

I want to purchase this for my daughter for a christmas gift. I need to know if this would help with a person with migraine head aches. I went on your web site and it looks very calming. Also the salt therapy would be a good idea for her.

I recommend calling and asking the staff. They probably have many anecdotes from clients about migraine relief. I definitely experienced muscle and mental relaxation.
