Just been here once. I went around one loop about 8 miles. I think I saw one Aligater in the water. One person I spoke with said they sun themselves on the trail in the winter. Nice ride but be careful. Everyone I met were nice too. I plan to go back for more.

The park gate only opens at 7am so it should be sufficiently light outside depending on the time of year. However, most of this trail is secluded and has little visibility or access to get in or out should you need. If in doubt bring a buddy. On the weekends there are plenty of runners and cyclists from sun up to sun down.
Can you go by 4x4 in that area?
Quit smoking, they will kill you! and you could burn the trail down. I don't see any, No Smoking signs there but be smart, please don't burn our beautiful nature trails.
Its Free
We parked at Grassy Plains, crossed the street and rode on our bikes to the entrance.
I am sure that the 15 alligators we saw would love the fresh game
My husband and I actually took our dog there and DNR got us. We were told that because of the wildlife: gators and possible coyotes and things. That our dog was not allowed in the park.
I don't know why either I drove there this morning as well , it looked like they was doing construction. I rode there last week some of the trails was blocked off maybe tomorrow I try again floridaridermtb@IGTV.
I don't believe so. Certain areas are OK. Just not sure which one
No - no motorized vehicles on any County trails. Only bicycles. Check Florida Motocross Group on Facebook for insight on MX tracks and trails for dirt bikes.
I don't know of a specific incident but I would not feel safe with a 7 year old child. May I suggest you visit okeeheelee park? I've seen many children there and they tell alligators don't like the nature trail because it's marsh.
There are signs posted for no pets. Along the trail there are many wildlife like birds, alligators, deer, and snakes. I think it might not be a good place for pets.
Park closes at dusk. You would be better off camping at Jonathan Dickinson park. They allow people to spend the night there.
I believe they update it fairly often. The trails do get extremely flooded and mucky with rain in the area.
